Is Paul George Available from Pacers?

Post#1 » by rugbyrugger23 » Tue Jul 24, 2012 1:56 pm

For the right package, could Paul George be had from the Pacers?

-They are deep at SG and SF with Granger, G. Green, G. Hill and even a couple young/rookie bench SG too.

-David West is about to turn 32 on expiring deal. Who could be better to take over for West next year then DWill, the player he is often compared to. One season to mentor West.

-They need PG depth with Collison traded and only DJ on roster.

Trade Suggestion:
To Pacers: DWill, Barea (or Rid), Memphis pick if needed
To Wolves: Paul George, Hansbrough

Wolves Lineup:
C-Pek/Stiemsma
PF-Love/Hansbrough
SF-George/Budinger/Wes
SG-Roy/Shved/Ellington
PG-RR/Rid/Shved

Pacers Lineup:
C-Hibbert/Mahinmi
PF-West/DWill
SF-Granger/Green/DWill
SG-Hill/Green
PG-DJ/Barea

Did you ask Pacers fans? They'll tell you what they think about it.

I would expect that they would reject the deal.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Seconded. I think they plan on using Hill at the point some with George & shooting guard as well.

I think George is one of their key pieces for the future.

He was available in 2010 at #4 when we selected Wes instead.

Pure hindsight, but just added to the list of missed opportunities.

He was even available for Jonny Flynn at that time.

EVERYONE missed on that one. Every mock draft had Wes going 3-5 and George going 13-18.

I don't think the pacers ever considered that deal, have there been any reliable leaks to confirm it? It felt like the Love for Harden/Ibaka type deal. Popular on realgm, but nowhere else.

From what I've heard, Granger is more available, I think they'd like to replace him with George at the SF position. George did play horrible ball during the playoffs, I doubt they are holding that against him...

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
