lol ammo makes absolutely no sense for us. he doesnt fit our attacking defense first scheme, he doesnt fit our running style, just drafted 2 rookies at the position. he needs to go to a good vet team that wants to play slow half court ball. ironically he'd be a nice fit for the Lakers, especially with Nash there now

mullens makes the all summer league veteran team, kemba and biz get honorable mentions

Center: Byron Mullens, Charlotte Bobcats -- Mullens was given this spot almost by default considering the dearth of experienced centers playing in Vegas this past week, but the big man formerly known as B.J. made the most of his time in Sin City ... or at least his one game of 33 points, eight rebounds and three three-pointers made it seem that way. He was 'bad' to 'decent' the rest of the way with averages of 15.4 points and 5.8 rebounds to go with a sub-40 shooting percentage, but we'll always have the Summer League game where Mullens channeled his inner-Kevin Love.

ranking the 52 rookies based on summer league

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2012/7/23/3 ... an-lillard

MKG ranked #2
2. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Bobcats

He played just one game, but he so thoroughly dominated it that the Bobcats really saw all they needed to see. There was no point risking further injury to his knee after he controlled the defense and the tempo of the game in a blowout win over the Kings.

Taylor ranked #13
13. Jeff Taylor, Bobcats

Already an elite defender, Taylor is a perfect fit in new coach Mike Dunlap's system. He is extremely quick sliding his feet, and he has great length to contest shots. In a full-court game, Taylor will thrive. He also flashed a pretty good three-point stroke, as well as a nice shot-fake, dribble pull-up game. The shots didn't always go down, but he was making all the right plays. He reminded me a lot of Thabo Sefolosha, except with better three-point capabilities.

(4) Kemba Walker

The second-year Bobcats point guard averaged 15.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists. Those numbers were slightly better than what he posted last season (12.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game), but Walker did an excellent job at commanding the court for Charlotte. His 5.8 assists per game was the second-best average of any player at summer league, behind Kendall Marshall.

But what was most notable about Walker is his team's record. The Bobcats finished summer league with a 4-1 record, and their four wins in five games were just three fewer than their win total in 66 games last season. Of course this is summer league, and of course none of this might transfer to the NBA, but it's worth noting, especially because Michael Kidd-Gilchrist played in only one game. One.

Walker is still far from being an NBA star, and the Bobcats are still a long way from a winning team. But they're one of the most intriguing squads to watch at summer league, one with the most to gain from it's young players, and they delivered. That in and of itself warrants recognition, for both Charlotte and its best player at summer league.

Great read. I hope the summer results demonstrate that I was WRONG about Robinson over MKG. I will be glad to eat crow on that if it happens. I do think Robinson will be better, and Hyphen will have his moments of struggle, but MKG really showed a lot in his one game.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

So we got an offensively-sound version of Thabo Sefolosha in the second round?

Awesome.
