Guess we're happy with our bigs. Let's hope KG can play a full season at center.

Good locker room presence at the very least. He'll be running with a whole different unit.

Re: Report: Keyon Dooling Returns
At this stage of the game they can't go with two more prospects with the last 2 slots, so I am completely on board with bumping Smith in favor of Dooling. Dooling is probably going to get time as Bradley is out. But then he is going to need to be happy with losing most, if not all, of those minutes when Avery returns. And he will be. Christmas is a guy who can fill in at the SF position in a pinch, or by design. Smith is in a different place, career-wise.

This board is pretty amazing. The news that Courtney Lee was going to be acquired, and the Dooling signing were both on here long before anywhere else.

So was the news that the Celtics were going to reacquire Kendrick Perkins, get Josh Smith, Pau Gasol etc.

Nothing wrong with actual confirmation.

I am really loving this signing. Dude really stepped up in the playoffs and IMO is a very likable person.

Re: Report: Keyon Dooling Returns
Nice to have Dooling back. He was awful a good portion of the season but really came into his own towards the end and in the playoffs. Nice veteran to have on the bench as an insurance. Obviously his role as a mentor to the young guys is probably even more important than his on court impact.
Welcome back, Keyon!

Great locker room leader. Good signing. Maybe he will punch out Ray again.

Re: Report: Keyon Dooling Returns
^^ Lmao I hope.
Rondo/Terry/Dooling
Bradley/Lee/Christmas
Pierce/Green/Joseph
Bass/Sully/Collins
Garnett/Wilcox/Melo
We know our great starting 5. Bench is awesome. 3rd String nice mix in rooks & vets. Like our team a lot we go a solid 12 deep right now & we'll see how Christmas, Joseph, Melo add up.

I'm hoping they are still looking for a big. Have Smith, Christmas and Joseph fight it out for a single spot (I don't really want two of them).

Re: Update on Keyon Dooling
Good looks OP.
Christmas is a much stronger and quicker athlete than ET. I like ET but he was all torso and arms, he had short, weak legs and pretty atrocious lateral quickness. He also lacked leg and core strength as well.
We'll see how Christmas stacks up against better players as a one on one defender, but the physical tools are there for him to be somewhere around Marquis level defensively. I think he'll be passable there but his impact is on the boards, in the team defense and in his ability to score in a variety of ways.
I think he's the full package.
I'm happy Dooling is returning too. I liked his game in the playoffs.
