right, cause average players post 19/8 seasons all the time

Nobody doubts his offensive prowess but lets face it somebody has to get rebounds and nobody else was even what you would call a average rebounder on those teams the second on the team is quite literally Yi Jianlian and vince carter those years.. Literally the second Humphries got on that team the free rebounds stopped and there is no reason to just think he will be able to put up 8-10 rebounds with a good rebounding player on his team unless he drastically improves in the area

So he was a poor rebounder for 87 games, and an above 8rpg center for 164 games....and it's ridiculous to think he can get to 8rpg?

Again as i said right above SOMEONE HAS TO GET THE REBOUNDS and nobody was there to get them before, with humphries there i see absolutely no reason other then actually improving his rebounding drastically to think he could get 8-10 rebounds

lol at people naming centers who would be on losing teams making the all star game.

If Dwight isn't in the East. Give me Hibbert, Monroe, Horford, oh and maybe even Barg considering he doesn't rebound either but he's a better scorer than Lopez

I'm so tired of people saying this. The gap in rebounding between Lopez and Bargnani is greater than the one Between Hibbert and Lopez.

Lopez career TRB%: 12.9
Bargnani career TRB%: 9.6

Lopez career Reb per game: 7.5
Bargnani career reb per game: 4.9

Now in terms of Bargnani being a better scorer:

Lopez career TS%: .560
Bargnani career TS%: .539

Lopez career Offensive Win Shares (251 games): 13.3
Bargnani career Offensive Win Shares (398 games): 8.6

Lopez career Offensive Rating: 110
Bargnani career offensive Rating 104

Lopez Career PER: 19.2
Bargnani Career PER: 14.6

Now tell me how the hell Bargnani is a a comparable rebounder and a better offensive player?

Oh and close this thread please... all this does is invite people that don't know a thing about Lopez (like the person I quoted) so they could bash him.

I'm going by last year. Could care less what Bargs numbers were 3 years ago. It's about what you've done for me recently.

Lopez only played 5 games last year. Even so, if you're just going by last year then how can you say Bargnani is the better scorer? Both averaged around 19. In fact, the last 3 years, they were within 1 ppg of each other.

We've seen him average 20 ppg game and we've seen him average 8 rpg. If he can put those two numbers together along with like 2 bpg I don't see why that isn't allstar caliber.

I don't think Chandler, Hibbert, Horford or any other center is going to have numbers like that.

I think there is a legit shot he makes the allstar team.

Edit: LOL at Hibbert being a lock with his 13/9. Look out for this guy.

As long as Chandler stays healthy and Dwight doesn't get traded he has virtually no chance. Then he has to beat out players like Noah, Hibbert, Horford as well. Not happening.

If Brook Lopez is an All-Star this year I'll literally eat my hat on YouTube.

I'd wager money on Lopez putting up great numbers this year and being an All Star this year, so long as he isn't traded at the start of Jan.

Lopez won't get double teamed this year and he's got 2 top guards to take the heat off him.

He has a point to prove this season and a chip on his shoulder.

If Brook stays healthy this season, it'll be really intriguing to see how opposition team defenses will deal with him. In the past, they would double/triple team and he would still score at a fairly efficient rate. Now with Deron, JJ, and Wallace on the team, it'll be hard to have that much defense attention on Lopez. I think Lopez is definitely the most intriguing piece on the team to me, because he is an elite offensive player at his position, who theoretically should thrive with the Nets team now. (given that he stays healthy and he gets the touches)

The allstar game is part popularity contest and the national exposure that some players get. The nets have 17 national tv games this season. Thats probably more than the nets have had the past 5 years combined. He'll see his first national christmas game this season. I see this playing a significant factor in his chances at getting an allstar nod since most casual fans(as well as most people on this board) have not seen him play much or hadn't even heard his name before it came up in Dwight trade talks. If Brook is putting up something like 20/8/2 on a winning team and Dwight is either traded to the west or just not playing due to his back i cant think of who else that would get it over him.
