AK back in the NBA. Where?

Post#1 » by QuantumMacgyver » Tue Jul 24, 2012 5:14 pm

Hoopshype is reporting that AK has announced that he will return to the NBA this season. Where does he end up? Says everyone will find out what team he is going to play for in a "day or two". Does this effect the Jazz in anyway?

I wonder how big of a contract he will get. If he signs for cheap (like 3M-4M), I'll be a bit disappointed he wouldn't\couldn't\didn't sign with the Jazz.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I assume its the Nets and he will have a big year. He is one of the most under-rated players in NBA history. He will make the Nets better and make a run at the allstar game.

Nets have a lot of front-court players, and they just signed another Euro star....... But him on the Nets would be very interesting.....

Williams/Watson
Johnson/Brooks
Wallace/AK
Humpries/other Euro
Lopez/Evans

Not too shabby...... Maybe pick a released vet for the minimum at the deadline......

I think he'll be going to the Wolves. They missed out on Batum and desperately need a decent SF. They can offer him the most money and minutes.

I think he is going to end up in Minnesota for something like 2/$14M. They lost out on Nic Batum and need a starting caliber SF. It might be a larger one year deal, but they are the only team out there willing to spend money to get a player of AK's caliber. I personally think it is a great move for AK and Minny.

Thoughts.

Latest rumors say Nets are out and Minnesota is offering him more like 2/$18m. They are getting ready to ship out Wesley Johnson to help clear room for him.

Andre must have an amazing agent or he is a master negotiator. That is way too much.

I think Kahn took a bet that he could take a team with 11 Caucasians to the playoffs.

Its official AK-47 to the Twolves and to have enough room to pay him 10 mil a year the Twolves had to give Suns a #1 pick to take Wesly Johnson(a former high lottery pick) off their hands for cap space.

Ak-47 has the best agent of alltime!! He gets a huge long term deal with the Jazz which paid him 18 mil in the final year then gets a nice deal to play in Russia for one year where he wins MVP and a championship to only come back to the USA to get a 2 year 10 mil a year contract. Man, thats an agent!!!

If Robbie Hummel makes the Twolves team more than 1/2 of their roster will be white players. If the Jazz or the Celtics had done that then everyone would be yelling racism. I think for Minn it simply worked out that way and it wasnt racism.

Yes another toxic contract for another team to worry about. AK might be an amazing player when it comes to the Euro league but when it comes to the NBA he just can not cut it. Its a relief that we (Jazz) didnt pick him up cause 10 million is ridiculous amount to pay AK47 for one year. He should have at max been paid 10 million on his final year of his contract with us but his contract screwed us for years!!

He's a very good player, I think he'll fit in perfectly with Love, but at $10 mil?

I don't know about that.......

IF he stays healthy he is worth that contract. Which means - it's too much money.

Even when he had his max contract it wasn't the worst max contract in the league.
