On WT and at http://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/status/2 ... 8362137601

Along with Lopez, Suns would send Hakim Warrick to Hornets. Minny would send Wesley Johnson and a 1st round pick to the Suns, sources say.

Supposedly so Minnesota can sign AK47. Will be curious to see if this shakes out as suggested.

Discuss?

Edit: Update
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/82059 ... team-trade

Minnesota in: TPE, Nets 2013 2nd, Minnesota 2016 2nd, LAL 2014 2nd
Minnesota out: Wes Johnson, Memphis 1st

Noh In: Lopez, Warrick, cash
Noh out: 2 2nds, Miller, Dyson

Phx in: Miller, Wes Johnson, Dyson, Memphis 1st
Phx out: Lopez, Warrick, LAL 2014 2nd

{Not sure how Noh takes in Warrick + Lopez still.}

minny getting pure cap and possibly a worthless right or heavily protected 2nd? Looks like they really want to compete now.
Good deal for Suns.

Good deal for Suns, not sure what the Hornets are after and it will depend on what the Wolves do with the cap-space and how Wes performs this next season as to how the deal turns out for them.

Looks like every team wins assuming Minny has some type of protection on the pick

Hindsight is always 20/20. From what Wes has showed only thing T-Wolves will be missing is a smile

Ouch. Paying a 1st to move a high draft pick stings.

This story must be missing something... Minny gives Wes Johnson and a 1st for Nothing ??? Dont get that at all even if it is for cap space... I think the Suns would gladly just take Wes Johnson withouth the 1st... Overall great deal for the Suns.

He also destroyed Portland's ability to rebuild for the next 3 years, and put together a starting lineup of:
Pekovic
Love
Kirilenko
Roy
Rubio
With a bench better than our starting lineup 3 years ago and a HOF coach.

Color me crazy, but if Roy's knees are actually ok after stem cell therapy that's a contender this year.
And I get the feeling Kahn sent in the offer sheet to "call his bluff" then give him one last chance to s+t.

Too good for Phoenix, probably not true. We're usually the ones who get ripped off.

Minnesota has to get something back via league rules.

For some reason WOJ just hates Kahn and has been pretty brutal leaking false trades (such as Minnesota receiving nothing for their assets) just to bash Kahn. No idea why.

I think Woj is one of the most credible out there on rumors, and wouldn't let any dislike of Kahn jeopardize that reputation. Not to say he's perfect, but I find it pretty far out of bounds to say he puts out false information because of some anti-kahn agenda.

Great deal for the Suns.
Awful for the Hornets.
OK for the T-Wolves, but $9M for Kirilenko is obviously overpaying, though.

Define "ok". Also, contender for what? The second round?

Yeah, if the Hornets are really taking on Warrick (expiring but not the best use of 4m of cap space), sending 2 2nds, and then paying Lopez 5m a year, I think its a really really tough pill to swallow.

Its interesting if Miller's cap hit is going to NOH, as then when combined with the original Miller deal would be:

Minnesota: Miller's 850k guaranteed contact + Wes + 1st for space
NOH: Lopez S&T with Warrick attached
PHx: 1st + Miller's 850k guarantee + Wes for Warrick + Lopez

That is a deal that gets panned as 'too good for Phx, cut everyone else out' by almost everyone on here imo. Still too early to judge as who knows what gets added, and for Minnesota you can lose a trade like this and still win if you use the cap space well enough.

I am assuming you mean playoff contender not actual contender contender? I agree if Rubio/Roy are healthy and AK refinds his game then yes the Wolves can fight for a 7-8 seed.

lol, realgm is so strange.

The Hornets got Miller and 2 second round picks for cap space, and then traded it for Robin Lopez and Warricks expiring deal. The Hornets aren't giving up cap space for Warrick because they won't have any after adding Lopez.

In what world is getting a 24 year old 7 foot center and a $4 million expiring for pure air a bad deal?

How much cap-space does New Orleans currently have? I would assume they take Warrick for Miller and cap-space for Lopez or something like that.

Also, Wesley Johnson was 78th!!! in PER amongst SG's in the league. Only 5 SG's qualified and did worse. He was literally one of the very worst players in the league. He and Warrick are no more than switching salary spots on the payroll.

Phoenix traded Robin Lopez for a late lottery protected first in a bad draft. I think that's ok value for them, especially considering they have Gortat, but it's not some "steal".

By not buying out Miller, we actually didn't have any. It was only if we bought Miller out that we could create $4-$5 million. So we traded Miller's $5 million, plus Dyson at the minimum (total of about $6 million for Warrick and Lopez. I've seen all sorts of talk about how it works on our end, but it gets a little dicey. I think there are exception possibilities for us going over the cap. Apparently it works even if Lopez gets over $4 million in the first year.
