Houston is paying $12 million to make that contract disappear.

It's still less than half of his contract, so he's still pricy, but certainly less so now. But if AA is saying he can't take back any significant money in trades, then even a subsidized Wandy is too expensive for Toronto.

Sorry, as usual I'm a little bit out of the loop on the Jays. Is AA really saying that? Because that's infuriating.

It's almost impossible to not for the Pirates right now to make the playoffs.

We already got Happ and I doubt Wandy would have been any better, especially on his contract.
What we need are some higher standards on players to acquire!

I think the "new" guys are Floyd from CWS, or McCarthy from Oak. Those guys have been hovering around AA rumours forever it seems.
