Re: Nets to open Barclay's against Knicks
Can't wait!!
It's a great opportunity to enter Brooklyn and the NBA with a bang. It's also an acid test for the fan base (and Yormark) to have such a huge game, with the arena backing the home team and not infested with Knicks fans.
Looking forward to it and it should be electric

This is just another sign that we're no longer a small market team.
This game is on TNT, the first or second night of the regular season! #HelloBigMarket
When is the last time we've been featured like this? Come on guys, this is awesome!

Re: Nets to open Barclay's against Knicks
Anyone know when single game tix go on sale? Only season tickets sales are going on currently.
Or does anyone know a guy in the Nets sales office I can talk to? I need to get tix for this game as soon as they go on sale for I don't end up spending $500 a ticket on stubhub.
Either way, I closed The Rock and I am OPENING The Barclays!

Yes, we're now actually playing in what was formerly Knicks territory. Even among the newly converted Nets fans, I doubt that many of them are going to root against their former team.NyCeEvO wrote:stateofmind88 wrote:Over/Under: 75% of the crowd will be Knicks fans?

Re: Nets to open Barclay's against Knicks
My post on the GB:
I really don't like this decision, at all. It will take away from us opening our building with a new team. You know Knicks fans will be out in full force, and make a point to be extra loud and boo our players. It's inevitable. I don't expect as many Knicks fans as there was in NJ, but I dunno. I certainly hope not.
Just a poor choice on our part, if it was us who chose this, which I have a feeling it was. We should try to establish a fanbase before we do something like this. We don't have any respect yet, and shouldn't, since we have been piss poor the past few years. If we got Dwight, I'd be all for this opener, because there would be a ton more bandwagon Nets fans.
I hope the Nets do some type of presale to people who have had season tickets in the past or something to try and get the tickets in the hands of Nets fans. Whatever the cost of the ticket is however, I will be there. No doubt about that.
To add: Don't worry about tickets. I highly doubt they will be north of $150 even on stubhub and other second hand market sites. It's still the Nets, and I don't think tix will be too hard. The only thing that sucks is that we will be fighting Knicks fans to get the tickets once they go on sale. If we got Dwight, then tickets might be harder to get, but I don't think these will be that difficult.
I'm interested to see how many nationally televised games we have this year, and I don't mean NBATV ones.
