He put up excellent numbers as a 4 and he's always been more of a 4 to begin with. Doesn't have bulk, but regardless he does so many good things as a Lamar Odom tweener.

LA doesnt need him at this point, they have to wait out what is going to happen with this Howard trade and if that doesnt go through probably picking up a spot up shooter. If LA can acquire Jrich in the Howard trade there really isnt any more need or even room for any more moves.

The team already has an 8-9 man rotation. Where would Kirilenko fit?

I know he's always been a 4, but common sense tells you he wouldn't play the 4 here it's no minutes for him at that spot. That leaves the 3 and he can't check 3's period.

Looks like he's going to the Timberwolves. They're freed up cap space in that three way trade to sign him.

He would be a really good piece for them.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA

Minnesota is finalizing a two-year, $20 million contract with free agent forward Andrei Kirilenko, league sources tell Y! Sports.

yeah, he ended up being totally out of the lakers price range.

Is that a hell of a lot of money for him, or am I just way off on market values?

i think its a bit much, but not crazy. if i'm kahn and thats what it takes, i'd do it. its short term so doesn't cripple them.

rubio, roy, ak, love, pek is a solid solid starting 5 if thats what they go with. may be it gets kevin love to zip it on the malcontent style comments.

Kirilenko will do well on a Wolves team desperate for some veterans to surround that young nucleus. That Wolves team is playoff bound

Thought you guys said he was done. Would have been nice to have him on Melo tonight and on the team in general at the 3

So many great lineups we could have run.

Gasol/Jamison/Blake for Kirilenko/D.Williams/ Ridnour

Why for the Lakers?:-We get a legit SF,great defender, and we can move MWP to the 4 to space the floor(or start Kirilenko at the 4 with MWP at the 3)
-we get 3 nice pieces for Gasol and 2 players who aren't/won't be used
-we get a very capable backup PG and a SF/PF prospect...Ridnour/Meeks/Williams/Hill is a decent enough bench
-we keep flexibility for 2014(Kirilenko and Ridnour expire in 2014)....

Why for the Wolvez?-Rubio/Shved/Ridnour/Barea and Roy when he returns....too many good players and few minutes to go around in the backourt....they can afford to give up one of those players in a trade
-3 headed frontcourt monster of Love/Gasol/Pekovic.....Love and Pekovic both had injury issues,Gasol can be very useful with big minutes if one or both go down with an injury again
-insurance if Pekovic will ask a ton in the summer as a FA....he'll come after a very good bargain deal for the Wolvez who paid him 5 mil a year and with his play this year,he could be asking for close to the MAX
Wolvez with Gasol would have a great backup plan and if they don't plan to give Pek what he asks for, they wouldn't lose that much
-With Gasol on board,Rubio's basically a lock to sign his extension

There is no chance in hell that Minnesota accepts that trade.

well, i just read through the thread and it seemed like almost everyone liked the idea of ak save for 2-3 people. as far the 2nd comment u made about a "Great lineup we could have run"...um, he signed for 10mil a yr, what possibly makes u think the lakers could have ever had him/
