SSOL?
I think we should run SSOL when Bynum goes to the bench. I would love to see Gasol closer to the basket and Jhill or Jamison on the floor with him at the 4. I know we need shooters to make this work and I'm sure the FO will bring in more players to round out the bench. Gasol running the floor with Nash would mirror Nash and Stoudemire, but Gasol plays defense and rebounds at a alarming rate. Hill would play the Marion role, high energy, rebounds, cuts to the basket, everything but Marion's ugly 3 point shot....lol
I think we should give this a try with Nash, Bryant, MWP, Jhill or Jamison and Gasol. Would this be good for us I think it would serve us well it gives us two ways to play the game.
Please post your reasons, thanks guys

Re: SSOL?
7 seconds or less eh?
Nah...
1- Kobe's knees
2-Nash doesn't even run that anymore
3-team age in general
4-not the strength of our personnel (2 Towers, MWP, Jamison, etc) really only Eyenga/Hill/Ebanks would benefit

Re: SSOL?
Not sure what this offense is, but I am sure of there are plenty of options and strategies made available now that Nash is here and I am itching to see what he can do with Pau on offense but the main thing is we got to rid of Bynum. He stagnates everything down low. Nothing really counts if he is still here stagnating the offense after 7 years of nba.
Or, if mike brown can play bynum and Pau Gasol separately.

Seven seconds or less and as for Bynum I think we should keep him, you just don't get rid of a skilled footer. As for Gasol and Bynum playing together it works but not as well as when we had Odom here, Hill will serve as Odom this year as he will get more playing time next to both seven footers.

Re: SSOL?
the two problems i see is that the lakers don't have the personnel to do it and don't have the type of coaching that would throw defensive principles to the wind like that.

Are you kidding? Lakers are a half court power team.
How about reading what I posted first, because clearly you didn't

Re: SSOL?
SSOL isn't as much a system as it is a mentality. It requires a complete commitment for 48 minutes, so switching back and forth between styles would be counterproductive. Let alone pointless considering we don't have the shooters necessary to run it.

how about we score before it comes down to Kobe jacking a shot at 23 seconds.
Kobe could get seven seconds or less down to three, easy.

Three seconds or less. Maybe two. Immediately pass the ball to Kobe, let him shoot from wherever he happens to be on the court. He'd love it.

Re: SSOL?
Nope......is the concept of the Lakers being a control tempo type of team lost on some guys ?
We don't need to placate to Steve on his past success. The Lakers are about controlling tempo, that was a garbage gimmick offense in Phoenix and it's the same reason they didn't win anything of note.
Bad idea OP.

Lakers were dead last in two categories : forcing turnovers and fast break points.
The tempo will be controlled. Nash is good enough to do that. Fast break points were worth their weight in gold. At the very least get some guys to run the wings...
