2 issues are holding things up

1. Rob still wanted to work on changing Dwight's mind. Call it foolish or shortsighted, but I really don't see the downside. Everything that's come out of this last meeting has been either the same as before or slightly better (he's willing to go to LA).

2. Crappy trade offers. As much as I think Rob wanted another shot at changing Dwight's mind, I think a deal would have been done if it was good. Come on, Anderson Verajao and a 1st round draft pick from the Kings that could end up as a 2nd rounder or no pick at all? Brook Lopez for the max? This is as much as Rob has said - he'll make a trade that's good for the team. We can judge him when a trade does occur, but I can't see filling in the information gaps when the reports have been so inaccurate (Bucher at ESPN, Woj at Yahoo, Broussard at ESPN and Alex Kennedy) or biased (J. Rudolph).

Well one thing i think for certain is if Dwight really does want to go to LA then there isn't room for 2 dominant centers on that team plus Gasol....so maybe the avenue is going to be that 3 team deal with LA/Hou/Orl...everyone seemingly gets what they want.....Dwight gets LA.....Houston gets an All-Star in Bynum to pair with Lin......We get out of Dwightmare with all the fixin's......question is how do we get from here to that point?

At this rate, a few more henmeets and Dwight should theoretically commit with the Rockets :D

For start Hennigan needs to stop pi.ssing everyone off with his indecision. I think Houston will be more open to Bynum since Dwight says there's no way in hell that he will resign with them. Lakers though PO will obviously get over it to get the best center in the league. I think we can still get a pretty good package but won't be able to send out as many bad contracts. I could see the framework somewhat similar to this.

Orlando receives: Martin, Donatas, Jones, Ebanks, McRoberts, and multiple picks.

LA receives: Dwight, Richardson

Houston receives: Bynum, Duhon

It could also be that RDV was the one who really wanted the meetings with Dwight. RDV is sort of an old school guy and I'm wondering if he thinks Dwight can be persuaded under the "you're still under contract and we'll try real hard if you come back" theory.

Regardless, I just don't see the reason for all the pearl clutching after this last meeting when nothing has changed.

I really don't want to see Howard in LA. But if we get a damn good package from HOU, then that'll be acceptable.

Probably the best deal I've seen since joining last month.

Pretty much, yes.

Just about every rookie, even superstars, does not have a huge amount of team success in thier first year.

That's because rookies with superstar potential typically get drafted to the WORST teams in the league, and rookies who aren't projected to be very good at all typically go to the best teams in the league (i.e. teams with established starters). You couldn't figure this out for yourself?

I'm with you, but we're just going to have to suck it up. Sucks that we have no choice. :(

No, I understand Houston's position quite well. I was just trying to explain to someone why Houston would be hesitant to make a deadline move for Howard.

Also, the "thelead" took a very hard lined stance suggesting every player on a team that is in play for the #1 pick sucks, which is just ignorant. Charlotte, Sacramento, Washington, New Orleans, Cleveland were all in play for the #1 pick, but that doesn't mean Biyombo, Cousins, Wall, Gordon, and Irving are bad players.

This seems to have been lost on you, as you posted something completely irrelevant and then followed up with a snide statement, that frankly doesn't make much sense.
