Free Agents 2013

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Thu Jul 26, 2012 10:44 pm

The Jazz will be one of the teams with the most cap space next year. ESPN had a list of the best free agents in 2013 and here is the list:

1. Dwight Howard
2. Chris Paul
3. James Harden restricted (a good try for Jazz)
4. Andrew Bynum
5. Josh Smith
6. Ty Lawson restricted (like him)
7. Serge Ibaka restricted
8. Tyreke Evans restricted
9. Stephen Curry restricted (please no)
10. Monta Ellis
11. Tony Allen
12. Elton Brand
13. Corey Brewer
14. Darren Collison
15. Jeff Teague restricted
16. Lamar Odom

A good list of players where the Jazz could add 2 of them easily if decided they dont want Big Al and Millsap back. What I found amazing is that Big Al and Millsap were not mentioned but Elton Brand and Lamar Odom were mentioned. Sometimes I wonder if the media knows that the Utah Jazz is in the NBA.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

James Harden
Andrew Bynum
Ty Lawson

These are the players I would love the Jazz to sign. I don't think Denver will let go of Lawson. Probably the same with Bynum. Does OKC have the money to keep Harden?

It's going to be a fun offseason to say the least!

I'd be willing to overpay for Ibaka. That guy is a stud... gets over looked because of Westbrook and Durant but he could be a legit offensive option for us along side of Favors.

Ibaka yes. He will get matched as a max though. Might as well be their Portland.

Harden would be great, but OKC will match any offer......

I would throw huge money at Lawson and dare Denver to match....... He would be absolutely great on the Jazz.......

I know it's beyond a long shot, but the million-to-one pipe dream line-up of:

Howard/Kanter
Favors
Hayward
Burks
Paul

Makes my mouth water!

Throw max offers at cp3,d12,lawson,harden. Perhaps one of them will agree to come here.

Lawson isn't worth the max. Someone else mentioned Ibaka getting a max. He's not worth it either. He's an overrated defender because he gets a lot of help blocks.

I'm not sure Harden's worth the max, but he'll get a max offer. I wouldn't mind the Jazz trying for him.

CP3 and D12 aren't coming here.

I know this isnt going to happen......... But what teams have available cap space to sign BOTH Howard and CP3. Are there any others that can sign both?

Lawson isn't coming here. He takes shots at Utah whenever he gets a chance and is sure to get great offers elsewhere.

This year all depends on Favors. This is his year to put up or shut up. So if not I guess Bynum might be a target.

Wouldn't it stink for Mo if the Jazz went after CP3 and moved Mo to 2nd string again.

I'm not sure who the weak link is going to be for the Jazz next year. They've done such a great job this year putting together a team maybe they should just sign everyone back again. ;)

Crazy because I just can't figure it out. If anything I guess back up PG is the weakest and not really in development. I wish I knew their plans for next year the way they situated it for total start over in salaries.

The teams with the most financial flexibility after this upcoming season are Atlanta, Utah, Cleveland and Houston.

Can someone please give me some info on CJ Miles. Is this guy any good? It appears he and the lakers have been in talks. Just want to know what we might be getting ourselves into. Thanks in advance.

Short answer: no.

Longer answer: he appears to have the skillset to be a great big 2-guard, but makes really poor decisions on the court and doesn't maximize his talent.

Ibaka can't catch the basketball, he's a major offensive liability. Even if in hypotheticals his combination of shooting and athleticism should make him an offensive threat, in reality, he just hurts his team a massive amount because he can't catch.

His talent is best when he drives to the basket, but as already said, he makes poor decisions and shoots the outside shot too much, he just isn't a good shooter. So when he is open he takes it and misses. He will have flashes of good play like any shooter, and defenders will play up on him and that opens him up that much more for the drive and dunk. But, that rarely happens.
He also doesn't know how to create a basket for his team mates so when he is open outside he doesn't know how to dripple off a team mates defender and dish to him. he becomes a liability fast as a shooting guard.

Thats the bad points :) He really is good though at his own game, but not good enough to be even the second or maybe third option and any team. I think he is a lefty too.
Go ReAL!

CJ shoots a poor percentage, makes dumb decisions constantly, doesn't rebound, assist or defend well, and on top of all that thinks he's entitled to call out his coach publicly at the end of the season.

Good luck with that. I personally would love it if the Lakers signed him and played him lots of minutes.

Since ever? Have you ever seen him play? Almost every pass goes into his chest so he takes forever and two days to gather to try and make a move and then gets blocked because the defender can recover back to him while he's trying to get control of the ball.
