Yeah, Bayless was not very popular up here among Raptors nation (ie he sucks). Smith is appealing but there's the knucklehead factor with him.

Looks like the Bulls want Moore and Thomas. We will see what happens. Would prefer these two.

We really need Nate because Teague isn't ready now and I'd say it's more than likely he won't be ready at the start of the season. If Hinrich got hurt, he could destroy any chance we had at making the playoffs as people who aren't NBA Ready can absolutely cripple a team all around.

We need experience. Maybe Moore is ready though as he is 23, had plenty of college experience.

My only issue is he is still technically a rookie cuz he barely played last year for Boston.

He was a big time scorer but if Kirk goes down then our only PG are two unproven guys. We would probably have the youngest at the position with Moore and Teague if Kirk ever got hurt, God forbid.

As a scoer, he has proven in college and his little spot in Boston he can do it, but he wasnt a PG in college, he is still transitioning to the PG spot from SG.

I still would prefer a veteran scorer to run the team but I guess we will just wait and see.

I would say Moore's playing time at Boston was about equivalent to what Butler was getting under Thibs.

Are we really that concerned with a 4th string PG?

Rose/Hinrich/Teague
Hamilton/Belinelli/Moore
Deng/Butler
Boozer/Gibson/Thomas
Noah/Mohammed

That's a fine squad when healthy. And yes, we would still have a deep bench. Sign me up if we can really get both Moore and Thomas.

Moore has a chance to be pretty good. He is not overly athletic, but is solid athletically. He can shoot, handle the ball solidly, play solid D, and good basketball IQ. He would be a good young player to put with Rose as he is pretty much what we would have needed 2 years ago if being cheap.

Nobody here is discussing the 4th string PG, but if they were to get one, as a Bulls fan I would be interested. Is that odd? :dontknow:

Moore would be one move that I would be pleased with this off season. Just give me someone young who has potential to score. Hopefully we could have this one deal go our way........please

And what if Noah or Gibson get hurt like they both did last season? I just found it funny you only mentioned boozer when he was 100 percent healthy last season.

Gibson isn't injury prone. Noah and Boozer are. The odds of one of them getting hurt is higher than their chances of not getting hurt.

Has anyone done a study of the distribution of injuries to show that some players really are "injury prone?" Or is the distribution entirely consistent with random chance? (Any such analysis would have to account for the fact that once a player is injured his problems can snowball, as we all saw.)

My biggest fear is that Hinrich gets hurt. For better or worse, he may be our most indispensable player for the first few months of the year.

too many variables to factor in to do a proper study. some don't train enough, some overtrain, others have diet issues that affect them, some have a rugged playing style and then some have freak accidents(Shaun Livingston knee injury,Greg Oden knee injuries & Blake Griffin knee injury in rookie season)

Boozer and Noah are definitely injury prone though. it's one thing to get dinged up and play through it because it's not serious enough to take you off the floor, it's another when you have to miss key time because playing would make it worse or you positively can't go.

the latter is what Noah and Boozer have tended to be.

I interpret "injury prone" to mean that a player who has one injury has a higher than average probability of having another, unrelated injury. If there is no such thing as being injury prone, there will still be some athletes who have a succession of unrelated injuries, due to random chance. Why not study the distribution of these injuries?

This has been done for stock market analysts. Some stock analysts outperform the market for several consecutive years. It turns out that the number of exceptional stock pickers is no more than you would expect from random chance. For example, about one in 64 analysts outperform the market for six consecutive years. Thus, the data is consistent with the hypothesis that no one can predictably outperform the market.

Now use the same logic to look at the rates of injuries. If, say, one in four athletes has a new injury in a year (defined, say as causing them to miss more than one game), then we would expect one in 64 to have new injuries in three consecutive years. What is the actual rate? The actual figures will vary, of course, but the underlying statistics is straightforward.

Yup. Maybe we can convince A.J. Guyton to come out of retirement. He is only 34. Or maybe Khalid El-Amin?

Moore appears to be getting attention "Around the League". The Bulls never get the guys they want it seems.

I think a lot of these leaks are put out by agents to increase the value of their guy

Bulls were probably not interested in most of the players they are rumored to be interested in

Since teams dont say "we dont want that player" publically, the agents can pull that stunt

Moore was officially waived yesterday. If he clears waivers and the Bulls are indeed interested per reports I think we hear something this weekend. You'd assume it would be a pretty easy signing since we only have the veteran minimum to offer and reports are Moore wants the Bulls.

I'm really hoping he is who we get.

I shot Sam Smith a email asking him about E'Twaun Moore and the PG spot. He replied saying this:

think they want a veteran point

First name that popped in my head was Derek Fisher. My source told me Robinson, Moore, Beverley and Fisher were the targets last week.
