Should be a good 3 point shooter this year but Wolves soured on him last year because he forgot to practice during the lockout and his shot went flat (lost rotation because of mechanics).

Wes may become a solid role player for defense and 3 point shooting, but he might not. It's not a terrible idea for Phoenix to take a shot on him like we did Randolph and Hollins, it's a rebuild mode move though.

Average defender, good athleticism, very inconsistent shooting stroke might be more accurate.

Average defender with tools to be great, very good athleticism, inconsistent shot. Yeah along those lines.

Suns get MIN pick if not top 13 in '13 or '14 or top 12 in '15 or '16. If MIN gets top-14 protected MEM pick in same yr, Suns get worst one.

Three-way Hornets, Suns and Wolves deal finally completed, clearing way for Minny to sign Andrei Kirilenko to 2-year, $20M deal.

So it's finally official. Can't wait for this season.

Which 3 2nd rounders are the Wolves getting? Anybody see that?

Brooklyn 2013 2nd (from Miller trade)
LA Lakers 2014 2nd (from the Nash Trade)
Minnesota 2016 2nd (from Miller trade)

None of which figure to be better than 45-46 at best.
So, basically 3 worthless 2nds.

We now have:
2013: OKC, BRK 2nds
2014: NOH, MIN, LAL 2nds
2015 and on: Min 2nds

You know Taylor was just going to make Kahn turn that Memphis pick into Cashola and worthless 2nds anyways instead of a Motiejunas, Mirotic, or DeAndre Jordan. So I guess he's just ahead of schedule in disappointing us on draft day.

Pretty sure that 2016 pick was the Hornets pick, which we used to have. Not our own.

We traded OUR OWN 2016 to NOH in the Miller for capspace trade, and got it back in this trade.

We own the Hornets own 2014 pick from the Darius Songalia trade, from summer 2009.

NOH sent us a (likely top55) protected 2nd to complete the Miller for capspace trade.
I'm not even counting that one as we will never get it.

They're better than nothing. Hopefully we go heavy on the euro-stashing now. Beef up our overseas scouting and use seconds on young international big men and other overseas prospects who have high potential but are raw.

Surprise Kahn already gave up on the #4 pick Wes Johnson. He gave him away for almost nothing in return. He must be pretty pretty bad.

Its pretty hard to quantify just how bad he is.

His -0.4 offensive win shares sum it up pretty good.

That still doesn't do it for me. The depression his lack of basketball talent caused me will take a couple more days to get over.

BTW, that's assuming MEM and us both make the playoffs.

But Dyson being used for salary matching?

Dyson is less than$1M. Miller couldn't be combined with another player due to just being traded. Miller essentially was traded straight up for Lopez in a separate trade. Dyson couldn't be traded straight up for Warrick. NO was supposedly trying to use a tpe from jack to match Warrick, but the nba was claiming this tpe didn't really exist. Now today - all of a sudden the deal was approved.

Just curious what happened.

For those people interested in the CBA, there is a thread on the CBA forum about this. Basically, the ruling is that New Orleans had cap space when they traded for Brad Miller, so even though they are over the cap now, they could combine him in a trade without waiting the 2 months.
