I am a little worried that AA may be forcing a trade of Escobar mainly because he probably doesn't want to look bad after signing Hech for 11M.

You are pushing it there and getting into dagger territory. Hech does not deserve to be up here and they have the entire off-season to move one of them.

probably not. esco hasnt looked good this season and some of issues in particular attitude that the braves didn't like about him were being displayed.

Outside of Morrow and Drabek, AA hasn't really made any significant starting pitching trades. Off the top of my head, it's been Eveland, Reyes (throw-in in Escobar trade), and Happ. Pretty much all patch work moves. His drafting indicates a preference for power arms, and his two main trades (Morrow and Drabek) follow that pattern as well. If AA does trade Escobar (which I highly doubt he does to be honest), then I'd expect a starter that more closely resembles Morrow than the soft-tossing lefties he seems to covet every year.

I think it is clear at this point that AA does not want to trade high upside prospects for pitching help, which is why he is relying almost entirely on his prospects (i.e. having a rotation with Drabek, Alvarez, Hutchison, Carreno, etc). Unfortunately this franchise doesn't have Tampa's "never get injured" luck with the starters.

AJ Griffin is a fine pitcher. I'd rather get him than Jarrod Parker to be honest. The one I'd want most is that Straily guy in AAA for them.

Look at Griffin's track record before judging him. He's been dominant since being drafted and maintained it at the top level.

The season is more than likely done! i don't want to trade our best SS in years for a SP, especially if he's a prospect. It would be like we're creating another hole to fill in the off-season. Hech clearly isn't the answer and he needs to play SS because his bat doesn't project to being anything close to good enough to play 2b. It would make a bunch more sense to package Hech for a SP like Griffin, but not Escobar.
