Allen Iverson Scenario
What if 2001 era Iverson was in the current nba? How would he fare? Where would you rank him?

Re: Allen Iverson Scenario
wait ... im in the right thread this time. Good.
He would be top 5, but haters would rank him lower and say he is overrated chucker "LOL 40 % FG ???" just like they did back in the day.

Re: Allen Iverson Scenario
He was solid in 00-01.
26.7/3.9/3.3/2.2 per 36 with a 24.0 PER. Only shot 42% FG while leading the league in USG though.
If he led the L in USG% today while only shooting 42%, and you can assume with stronger all around defence his numbers would drop to somewhere around 25/3.5/3/2 per 36, he would be good but not elite, probably around a 22.5-23.0 PER.

Re: Allen Iverson Scenario
It's unfortunate he wasn't in his prime during the post handcheck era, because his balls-to-the-wall style of slashing(similar to Dwade) would have transitioned favorably and been reflected in his FG%.
I believe he was fairly efficient in his Nuggets stint, which could be an indicator of what his efficiency would have been like if he say, came into the league around 2006.

Re: Allen Iverson Scenario
The guards these days are bigger, stronger, and still just as quick as 2001 Iverson. He'd still obviously get his shot off though. He'd probably average 26.8 PPG and 80.7% from the free throw line.

Re: Allen Iverson Scenario
I'd take him over D Rose, personally. They are basically the same player, but AI is a better scorer.
He would possibly be borderline top 5, but more like top 10. The PG class hasn't ever been this stacked.

The guards these days are just as quick as iverson? You're underrating Iverson here. He'd still be one of the quickest if not the quickest guards in the NBA not to mention his godly endurance.
