Wich-ones are you interested in buying? I have bought quite a few headphones over the years and I have checked-out the Dre headphones at Best Buy. If you do buy them, make-sure you only purchase them from a Best Buy or similar store, there are a lot of fakes being sold on the internet.

The beats solo's, without noise-cancellation. I hear they're more versatile and sweat resistant. I'm not a DJ or anything.

I think anyone paying $100 or however much it is now, for headphones needs to seriously re-evaluate their lives. I'm sure there's something out there, cheaper, and probably better.

+1 There are very good headphones on the cheap. All I need is good headphones w/ good sound and bass and I'm good.

I love my ear buds from Etymotic Research. Really good sound quality.

yet another reason why the dream team is better. jordan and barkley would have the lot of them downing scotch, smoking stogies, and playing high stakes cards. not napping and instagramming.

Just received an email that my next assignment, to Guangzhou, has been cancelled. Given two choices: Chengdu and Shenyang, and I'll hear next week. I am not keen on living in Shenyang for two years...

How good will Kenneth Faried be?

Other than a hook over the left shoulder, what other post moves has he shown? Gotta have moves and counter moves to have post game IMO. Faried's not even close to that, but still gets 10 ppg off hustle.

No one answered this question from above, but I think it's clear that Faried was the 2nd best player from the 2011 draft.

Before he was drafted I said Faried has HOF talent. To make the HOF, Faried will need average double doubles for at least 10-15 years, and the Nuggets must win at least one championship. Lawson got one at UNC and he can do so in the NBA. I like the Nugget roster, but it's nowhere near there yet.

Still, I think Faried is going to have an outstanding NBA career.

I spent a week in Chengdu in 2003. That far inland, there are very few people who speak any English whatsoever. Typically, the five star hotels in major cities have front desk people who speak a smattering of English, but not in Chengdu. I had a hard time communicating "hotel" to the taxi driver. The people were very nice and friendly, though.

Also, at 5-9, I was a giant there. I got a lot of strange looks while walking the streets (I suppose the red hair and freckles may have had something to do with that as well).

My wife really wants to go to Spain, but I admit I'd be a smidge uncomfortable with you taking her.

Even I laughed at that. Well done, sir.

I just went to Taiwan for a few days earlier this summer. Albeit, I'm biased but I've noted that it's quietly one of the best places too visit in the far east and my WHITE friend who just got back from a trek around the pacific rim agrees.

Super English-friendly - Everyone speaks English to some degree and all the metro stops in Taipei are in English.

Cheap - The food costs are around 1/2 to 2/3 what meals cost in the US, much less compared to European or Japanese prices. Plus the food itself is phenomenal.

Small island with extensive infrastructure - The Island is roughly the size of 2 new jerseys and is equipped with high speed rail and an extensive heavy rail system. You can get anywhere on the Island through public transportation and rather efficiently.

Of course, Central America (Have a bunch of friends rave about Costa Rica), and Argentina are also good bets. Also I've heard good things about Australia and/or New Zealand.

I love Taiwan and New Zealand for 1-2 week trips (or more--I want to live in both in the future). Both offer a ton of different experiences in a small area, and both are fairly easy to navigate for infrequent travelers.

Taiwan: Fantastic night markets, great beaches, Taipei 101 skyscraper, tea fields, really interesting temples (I have severe temple fatigue from traveling, but Tainan is a fantastic old religious city and near a bullet train stop), treasures taken from mainland China and fascinating history, etc.

New Zealand: hiking, glaciers, volcanoes and hot springs, beaches, rain forests, fiords, great outdoor and adventure sports of all types. Also requires a stopover in Sydney, which is nice as well.

It depends on what you're looking for--they're both more culture/adventure than romance.
