Mike Brown Isn't Bad
If they didn't both start, Bynum would have to get more burn with the second unit. Kobe clearly prefers Pau.

Re: Mike Brown Isn't Bad
Never said he was bad, just said he isn't good enough to win a title because he doesn't have any go to plays and doesn't know how to make adjustments. To me a coach that can't win a title = garbage for my Lakers. Doesn't mean they aren't an average coach. I just have high standards.
Also Kobe didn't get us those titles by himself. Pau + Odom contributed just as much as kobe. And you failed to mention we were also a turnover away from beating Dallas in game 1 of that sweep. (we lost by two points, safe to say if we made one less turnover there's a good chance we win) Would have totally been a different series with lakers winning game 1.
It's funny how you grasp at straws to point out we could have won the OKC series but then completely ignore how close each of the games besides game 4 were in the Dallas series. Ignoring the facts to make your case.

I'm tired of hearing Bynum & Gasol didn't work together. Anyone will tell you that's the best front court in the NBA so what is being looked for here?

Cosign, guys keep spewing that crap out their mouths with no legit reasons on why it shouldn't have been done. These same one preaching it are the ones who think Pau can last a whole season as a 5, he can't didn't the 10-11 season show anybody anything about him and playing the 5 full time.Anklebreaker702 wrote:I'm tired of hearing Bynum & Gasol didn't work together. I'll tell what's being looked for Ankle, guys want this team to boat race up and down the floor for points while ignoring the fact that you need a physical presence in the middle. Yeah...yeah Drew has his lapses but when he's engaged he's a beast in the middle. Did these guys not pay attention to Pau saying several times he needed Drew on that front line with him and was glad he was the one who didn't have to bang with the more physical bigs ?

And fact of the matter is, When Drew is there Pau plays better. When Drew is not there, especially if we are playing a physical team, Pau usually disappears.
As far as the boat racing, that's what most seem to want to see so they cal laugh & high sign but real basketball is won in the trenches. Sure we'll blow teams out some nights, but the OKC's, Miami's & teams like that, Boston, you have to be ready to play for 4 quarters with multiple lead changes.

And if you ever noticed those "trench" like games are the ones where guys complain even if we're behind by 1 point. I'll keep saying it....you find out more about your team in battles than you do blowouts. Blowouts prove absolutely nothing in most cases, even against the good elite teams you can always find something that led to it.

We don't need a guy who half asses it on defense, especially someone who's supposed to anchor it. But you're right DEEP, Pau at the 5 will not work.. he's just to fragile lol

His rotation has been questionable but I' gave him a break since he had no off season to install his game plan. The lockout hurt the lakers the most

No we don't need lackluster effort from our Center but we were commenting on Pau & Drew working togetherKB24_ILLMATIC wrote:DEEP3CL wrote:Cosign, guys keep spewing that crap out their mouths with no legit reasons on why it shouldn't have been done. I hated his offense. Last year it became a running joke to listen to his post-game after losses. He'd always blame the loss on lack of effort on defense even if they barely scored 80 points.
I'll become a Brown supporter if he can actually come up with a decent offense with this roster. He now has Nash, who only runs pick and roll, which is what he told Sessions to stop running last year. He has Bynum and Pau, who are unproven as roll men. Meanwhile Bynum and Kobe want to post-up and Kobe also likes playing hero ball. Nash = make the best play possible off the pick and roll. Kobe = give me the ball and I'll create. Far as plays, the only things the team ran regularly last year were ISO's and horns with Pau as playmaker and the 1 reduced to an initiator running a backscreen. If Brown can sort out this mess and get everyone on the same page this year, I'll vouch for him. He's got his work cut out for him though.

Re: Mike Brown Isn't Bad
as one of browns bigger haters , much of my dislike for him is from what i saw of him in cleveland, which imho, was a horrible offense to watch...
this is a better team 1-12, so the talent is that much better, but he is average at best...
which is ok, maybe, in ohio, but in laker land an average coach is a bad coach...

Below average coach, but the best brown noser in the NBA. I think its how his ancestors got the name Brown. Mike Brown is such a kiss ass.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

He's only below average until he wins a championship. People weren't all that hot about Spoelstra before the title.
