I will be going to the Hawks vs. Nets game. I am charging the true hawks fans to come out in force and show Joe Johnson some appreciation for coming to the Hawks when no other free agent would. and for taking us from a perennial lottery team to a perennial playoff team.

this is the game that let everyone know that they were a good team.. it also was the reason that JJ was doubled and sometimes trippled team everytime he got the ball after this game.

he will not be doubled team as much with D-will running the show and he will have many more games like this one.

Heck, I honestly think we may see Brooklyn end up with the best regular season record next season.

They have the best backcourt in basketball, an experienced HC and a scoring big man capable of dropping 20 on any given night.

And you know JJ is gonna show ouut in front of the crowd. I just hope that Hawks fans are like you and recognize the contribution he made to ATL basketball. It'll be fun to watch JJ absolutely OWN Morrow, Jenkins, Devin Harris and anyone else LD dares to put on him.

Really? The reason he isn't still here and we aren't a superteam is because he went for a money grab. We could have easily had JJ, Josh on reasonable deals and Dwight opting out last year.
But now its going to be fun to see him destroy the team twice over?

We'll see if some combo of Josh and Korver/Morrow/Deshawn can guard Joe. Josh was on Kobe last year, Iso Joe should be easier to guard. We'll see what LD cooks up.

His "owning" of anyone will lead to the Nets losing.

If joe goes to Brooklyn thinking he should be anything other than a spot up shooter, then that team won't win. The ball needs to be in Williams hands and when its not, it needs to be in to Lopez on the block. Any play that features Joe going at his man 1 on 1(and lets face it, he is so slow to move, its not like he is going to be catch and go offense) then its a fail.

Maybe Joe will embrace what he should be and do well. He should be the Dan Marjle of that team. I have a feeling he will try to be the man.

In case you haven't noticed, as a Phoenix Sun and Atlanta Hawks fan, I have a strong dislike for Joe Johnson.

But they are a team with good on paper starting line up and no bench.

Yikes! I hear he also is single handedly responsible for the recession, was a part of the Saints bounty program and likes to take candy from babies...

Geez. Lighten up guys.

1. He signed a contract that our ownership/management offered.
2. Us losing a single regular season game to Brooklyn is not exactly 'destroying the team twice over'.
3. Two guys who each avg less than 20 ppg do not make a 'super team'.

I don't blame him for the contract.

I blame him for

1: Whining to the press about having to look over his shoulder because Penny Hardaway was playing well off the bench in Phoenix, leading to Penny getting traded.
2: Him whining that he wanted his own team, despite saying at first that wasn't the case. This led to Phoenix trading away Quintin Richardson(back when he was useful) to ensure Joe the spot was his, only for him to say "Nah, I want my own team".
3: His throwing the team under the bus after they go undefeated in the preseason, everyone came in playing better and his response was "I am disappointed that I don't have more help."
4: His whining when Marvin Williams came in ready to play his third year in the league, was averaging around 17 and 6 and getting to the freethrow line 7-8 times per game, then we saw a abrupt and sudden switch in the offense that lead to Marvin being Mr. Jumpshot outlet for Joe Johnson. Marvin still finished with a respectible year but was never given the opportunity to have offense run through him again and stayed Joe's outlet boy for the rest of his career here.
5: Whining about not caring about the fans because they booed him playing like pure crap.
6: Complaining about not getting the ball enough after a loss despite the fact that he played like crap when he got the ball and kept turning it over.
7: Pretty much throwing Jeff Teague under the bus in his NJ press conference when he said he FINALLY has a pointguard that can get him the ball.

Joe Johnson is a good player. But he lacks the ability to adjust and the ability to admit that his lack of adjustments are hurting the teams. He is the easiest "star" player to guard in the playoffs, becuase you know EXACTLY what you are going to get. He isn't going to pass the ball more, or move the offense along more quickly even if he sees his usual crap is bogging it down. He isn't going to suprise you by actually crashing the boards. He isn't going to get back on D. He isn't going to make a quick move, he isn't giong to cut to the basket. Joe Johnson in October is Joe Johnson in the playoffs and he is the type of selfish player that I hate to watch. Too bad I had to watch him on my favorite team and my second favorite team for so many years.
