That is a very good move for the White Sox. He has been hit hard at times this season but for the most part hasn't received any run support. I think a change was needed.

Pence traded to the Giants, Victorino to the Dodgers, Broxton to the Reds, Gabby Sanchez to the Pirates, Casey McGehee to the Yankees and Dempster to the Rangers.

Hunter Pence appears to be interested in signing long-term with the Giants. I think it would be a good for both parties.

Hunter Pence, who was acquired by the Giants on Tuesday afternoon in a trade with the Phillies, has warmed to San Francisco quickly.

Dodgers get Blanton from Philly thru waivers. Dodgers will send a PTBNL and cash to Philly. Dodgers also claimed Cliff Lee thru waivers, but Philly's GM says a deal is unlikely.

Nationals get Kurt Suzuki from the A's thru waivers, The A's will get minor league catcher David Freitas from the Nationals.

Wow! Melky just got busted for PED's. Banned 50 games. He was having such a terrific season so far. But you cant cheat and get away with it forever. Gonna catch up to you some day. Big blow to the Giants.

I knew something was up, he was fat and horrible in ATL. Then boom he is the MLB hits leader and All Star MVP with the Giants. :-?

Yunel Escobar gets a 3 game suspension for having a gay slur in his eye black. Did the idiot think that just because it was in Spanish that MLB would not figure it out? What a nut case. Glad he is not a Brave anymore.

Marlins To Lower Payroll For 2013

Considerable uncertainty surrounds Miami’s manager and front office with ten days remaining in the regular season, but one thing about the 2013 Marlins is clear: they’re lowering payroll. The Marlins will likely scale payroll back to the $70-80MM range after spending a franchise-record $95MM in 2012, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

The team lost money this season, Spencer writes. Miami moved into its new stadium after spending aggressively on free agents including Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle and Heath Bell only to disappoint on the field (66-86 record so far). The Marlins have committed $67.5MM to next year's team, so their financial flexibility will be limited this coming offseason.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez created a stir by saying Jeffrey Loria, the owner of the Marlins and his former boss, is difficult to please, Spencer reports. “There’s not a manager dead or alive that Jeffrey thinks is good enough," Gonzalez said. "Not Connie Mack, not anyone.” Loria called the comments "classless" and characterized Gonzalez's work with the Marlins as a "colossal failure." Red Sox fired Bobby Valentine. Horrible season, and they dismantled the team, Really thought after they traded away so much, they were going to give him a couple more years. Oh well. His mouth will be on TV soon. Too much of a personality not to have him on TV running his yap.
