Official Hakim Warrick Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by DRK » Sat Jul 28, 2012 7:06 am

One of our team's most entertaining players to watch. We thank you for your memories, and your remarkable dunk attempts. You never gave up, and was always extremely aggressive on offence, and our best at drawing fouls

We will never forget your dunk over Millsap in 2011, dunk over Yi Jianlian in the same year, and the 34 points you put up against the Rockets when Frye went down. We thank you again, HWGCFTM!

Good luck with your future endeavours!

He did things with the ball that I don't think I've seen anyone else do.

I wonder how many people will take the above sentence as a compliment and I wonder how many people will take it as a criticism.

His epitaph will read

Too bad he couldn't use his jumping ability to get rebounds

Or dunk.

I cant even count how many times he went for a dunk at the free throwline. Anytime he was on a fast break, i was begging, "Please dont pass it to Warrick....Please dont pass it to Warrick.".

I think there was even a time where he was in between the 3 point line and the free throw line, and sure enough he went up for a dunk (with 3 defenders in front of him).

I dont even think he was even really trying to dunk it, but instead was just trying to draw a foul.

:D :D :D
I am definitely going for the latter part of your comment. I've been following the NBA for over 20 years and I can hardly recall any other players, especially such athletic ones, having such a poor finishing ability. All those times he attacked the rim and realised he wasn't going to be able to dunk and ended up kind of hoisting the ball off his fingertips somewhere in the vicinity of the rim...just bizarre...and terrible.

Good luck Hakim...but more importantly good luck Hornets fans.

I think a lot of that has to do with him having such a thin frame. He can't take too much contact and when he does dunk over people, it's not because he's overpowering them, he's just jumping higher than everyone else.
