This is sad news.......plus I am not giving Marcum a $12M offer.

Tom‏@Haudricourt

Other than pending trade of George Kottaras to Oakland, #Brewers GM Doug Melvin said he has not deals in the works.

I agree on Maldonado, he will never be as good as he is now, would trade him.

What's the rush to trade Maldonado right now? No team likely would give up a lot for such a small sample in the big leagues and he's a cheap cost controlled backup catcher for a long time now for the Brewers. Catchers can get hurt easily and it's nice to have a competent backup to Lucroy for years to come at a pocket change price vs having to sign career scrubs like Will Nieves.

If down the road the Brewers get a nice offer for Maldonado, then sure trade him.

Heyman with an update this morning, says the Giants are in the market for 3B and OF bats. Mentions Ramirez, says Hart would also be a fit. Brown or Crick would be great if we wanted to continue adding youth.

Wouldn't mind Gary Brown at all, could turn out to be a Brady Anderson type player (minus the 50 HR season)

I would love to see the Brewers trade A. Ramirez to SF, and if we ca trade C. Hart to them great. The problem is I doubt they'd take both because of salary. Is there someone on SF who could almost offset some of the both of there salaries to make a deal work? If not could the Brewers pay some o one of their salaries to make the deal? If SF wants both it would have to large overhaul of prospects and some MLB ready or MLB players coming back to MKE. I do agree with Drubust that it would have to start with Gary Brown, and then Crick would be good also. I would also see if we could get B. Belt from them also. Not sure if they'd trade all 3 of thsoe folks? What about N. Schierholtz also coming to MKE? He's said to want a trade.

Happy last few hours of the trading deadline.

The Brewers are apparently interested in catcher Kelly Shoppach...?

I'd want a good return for Hart, since he's signed through next year.

Corbin?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

We're not in on Shoppach via MLBTR. Which makes sense, seeing as we don't need another **** backup catcher.

Corbin from Arizona was just scratched from his AAA start today. This Hart-to-Arizona move might have some legs.

Just read about Corbin - he's like Arizona's 9th ranked prospect. Would be asking for better prospects to deal Corey.
