Right, I agree there.

NY Media is like a shark feeding frenzy. They can be pretty brutal. That's why I don't think that certain players should go there if they can't handle the level of criticism they can receive if the city/media turns on them.

Macho Man Machado doesn't have to sign with the Rockets. We don't own his rights or anything. He will probably sign elsewhere.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I'm confident Morey will sign this kid. Even though I don't blame him for cutting Lin last season because we had Dragic and Lowry, he won't make the same mistake twice. He knows as well as the rest of us that the ONLY role that Livingston & Douglas have on this team is "Salary Cap filler" for any potential trades he has planned. Neither one of those bums have a future on this team. Too bad for Livingston, I like his game.

I honestly think that playing time hierarchy should be defined in practice, training camp and scrimmages rather than media and salary levels. If Machado can out play Lin for stretches to get the starting nod for a few games because of matchups, we would have the kind problem that other teams would happily trade for. Kenny Smith and Sam Cassell had a healthy competition going and the team (and the fans) reaped the rewards tremendously.

Nothing he said in that article is all that inflammatory, or for that matter, wrong. Machado is practically a c-level celeb for making mid major NY college hoops relevant again. A rag like the NYDN would love to run with Machado as some sort of protaganist, especially what went down during the Knicks/Lin breakup.

Personally, regardless of how NY Daily News stirred the pot, I like the kid's fight. Toney Douglas isn't going to run the PnR properly and Livingston would have difficulty stopping Lin on the dribble. I hope he gets a camp invite and make Lin sweat a bit.
