C.J. Miles considering signing one or two-year deal with Lakers, source says, likely for mini mid-level.

Miles' other options are strong, but Lakers have current edge.

is this a signing laker land would be happy about?

Hmmmmm, I'm not sure if Miles is the guy the Lakers need... he's not much of shooter or defender, poor passer too.

i like him more than meeks because hes taller, longer, and a better defender, but both of them are pretty inefficient. im really curious to see who else the lakers are actually looking at and not just being speculated on message boards.

not a big fan of bringing in a wing that can't really shoot, especially for the MMLE.

I actually like him. He is long and isn't afraid to take it to the basket.
He also has a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
He may not be a great shooter but he is a scorere and that's what we need off the bench.

It seems like the Lakers will pick up either Miles or Meeks... Meeks is the better shooter, Miles can back up both SG and SF... I'd be fine with either

2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

I like him sometimes. He has some positives but he'll have like one game shooting 7/9 then the next 3 he'll go 2/8

He's a solid bench guy which is what we'd need. I'm fine with some sort of Ebanks/DJO/Goudelock insurance.

What's the deal with Ebanks anyways...is he still not signed?

I wouldn't take him for MMLE. I'd rather go with Meeks with the vet min.

He's young, athletic, nice height, and from what I can remember a nice wing span. IIRC he's a pretty good defender too. I'd be curious to hear the opinion of Utah fans because they got to see him night in and night out.

Post like this can be so damn irritating....with the money that's available to the Lakers right now, what the hell do you expect them to do? They're not gonna find the next Laker great right now. By no means is this kid THE perfect role player, but he's young, he's athletic, he can defend his position, and most of all he can score..........I'd say if it's on a 1 or 2 year deal, why not

I think he is a better shooter then people are giving him credit for. My personal best option for the Lakers for this back up sg/sf spot is Terrance Williams I love his versatility and think being on a veteran team will help him also super athletic. But Cj Miles would be my 2nd pick.

My thoughts

- He gives both Kobe and Ron a legit swing backup so both get good but conserved minute

- He shoots well with a real PG ala Deron so he can play off Nash

- Per Synergy sports, in isolation situations, Miles held opponents to 28.6% so he's a marked improving from Goudelock, Ebanks, moans yes even Matt on that end versus wing players which goes well with Kobe and Ron. Also offers a great alternative on Harden as hero is lefty

- Unlike T-Will he knows how to play in the playoffs and isn't a locker room issue

I think its a toss up between him or Meeks. Too many factors to tell who would help us more. I'd rather just go with whoever is younger which is probably Meeks.

I like CJ Miles, can defend well and athletic enough to finish or create with the ball and seemed like a great teammate on a young Utah team.
