Jazz add toughness & 3 point shooting

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Tue Jul 24, 2012 4:47 am

The Jazz were a very soft team (mentally and physically) last year. This was very unlike past Jazz teams led by SLoan and it looks like KOC noticed. Jazz also could not shoot the 3 last year. Jazz have added Mo WIlliams, Marvin Williams, and Randy Foye who all shoot the 3 and are guys if you mess with them or a teammate then you are going to feel it on the next play.

1) They wont let a guy poke your ear without a retaliation by Hayward or a teammate;
2) One time last year someone knocked the ball out of Favors hands with the only retaliation from Watson;
3) Everyone in the playoffs let the Spurs do what they wanted without knocking someone on his ass (to which MArvin WIlliams has done so in the past); and
4) The Jazz were a terrible 3 point shooting team and now its above average to good at it.

KOC is the best GM in the league in my opinion and in him I trust! He addressed the Jazz weaknesses less the coaching issue. Corbin on the hand needs to improve.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

I do like these moves for those reasons. He addressed our needs very well.

I'm not sure this makes us all that much more tough. KOC wasted this offseason and should've gone for Delonte, Metta and Sprewell.

I remember being so pissed when I saw the Jazz let this happen.
Oh and it was both Mavs players. (Delonte/ear and Dirk/Favors slap)

Looks like Mavs had some short lived swag this yr. and wanted to send a message they weren't soft.

You forgot J.R. Smith, the Birdman, Stevenson, and Rodman. Or better yet lets just hire Matt Harpring (used to play football) and Jilian Michaels as assistants. We can call them our toughness coordinators and they can run toughness drills like medicine ball push ups, smear the queer, and full-metal-jacket reenactments.

I am excited to see wht this team can do with a full training camp and more practice time. Hopefully there will be penetration and kicking for open threes that will open the offense a bit. Ticks me off when other teams throw the zone in our faces.

Favors and Burks have to step up and become stars.

I was beyond furious they didn't send out Kanter to absolutely level that POS West.

Maybe it's time to bring back Araujo and his 6 fouls in 5 minutes routine?

I do remeber him in a preseason game throwing Martell Webster to the ground with a simple hank of the shirt.

I thought it was our very own Marvin Williams. In fact, I think there were two incidents. One in preseason, another during the regular season.

I think you're right. I'm pretty sure Marvin and Araújo almost got into a fight in preseason. Don't remember the Webster incident though.
