I sort of agree. I think splitting it up so that the "click" action is on the left while the display is on the right (which is also clickable to show names) creates some confusion.

Hey guys,

I quickly put together this image of how I think the new +1 feature (which I really like but I feel is too cluttering right now) should look:

Obviously they should be closer together, I just have limited image editing skills lol.

In essence, you are taking the actual +1 button that people would click, and placing it near the counter. The button that shows who +1'd it is eliminated (I think that is a cool little feature, but right now it is taking up too much space. And, the actual details of who +1'd it aren't really too important, people care 10x more about the count.)

Back to the right side please. And if anything needs to be left aligned, there at least should be more space between it and the last line of text...

True. Having it on the left just confuses me and disrupts the flow. Keep em to the right.

I never clicked the number before the post above, so now I understand that the names of those who like and dislike are listed. I like that. Sort of like a Poll. Now, I get soo many dislikes that I can now see who hates me.

Not understanding the positioning of the +1 button in relation to the counter. From a design standpoint, it looks out of place. From a usability standpoint, it makes little sense that the counter is on one side while the input button is on the opposite site (at least you can put them in the same container with a border or different color background to show the are grouped). Also why aren't the top margins more defined (ie. at least 5px) and different sizes (left side top margin is 2px and right side top margin is 0). No offense, but the current format is a bit of an eye sore.

You should remove the +1 button on your own posts. It's a bad user interface since it does nothing and moves you to a different page from the one you were looking at.

Definitely need a -1 too. A lot of +1s may just mean something is popular among a loud minority, but still disagreed with by the majority. It should be a seperate counter though.
