Nets best option at the Vets' Min. Knicks wouldn't hesitate to sign him.

As far as the police investigation is concerned, apparently it was an extortion attempt by his ex-gf or something. Still though, Birdman has a pretty bad track record, and that's the reason why he's still available. As far as production goes, he's the best option available right now, easily.

I've been touting Andersen for weeks.

Pryzbilla doesn't seem interested in us, and while Oden could be a good long-term investment for a two-year minimum deal, he may not return this season. That leaves Birdman, and I think his energy, rebounding, shot-blocking and fast-break finishing would be a spark off the bench. He'd be the yin to the very yang Lopez. Plus, keeping him away from NYK would be a coup, even though they already have Camby and Novak as backup bigs.

I'd take him at this stage if no one else is available.
