At the end of the day he needs to learn to stop fouling so often. Not sure if these are fouls are coming from contesting shots or just poor body control...his motor and other skills are irrelevant until he can learn to stay on the floor

Kęstutis Kemzūra is a good coach. He proved it in the last World Basketball Championship.

Motiejunas asked for guarantee that he won't get benched, according to some reports. Kemzura refused to do it and Motiejunas opted to focus on SL and training camp.

Oh and regarding the defensive rotations of Lithuania. Lithuania was always a great offensive team but most of the times they cannot play a lick of defense. Javtokas was one of the few good defenders they had on their roster in the last 2 tournaments and thus is quite natural that his absence would throw them off even more.

Jonas could become a good defensive presence but he is not able to anchor such a weak defensive team yet.

Plus, he is a great FT shooter.

I am not a Raptors fan (Pacers fan, in case you wonder) but I really believe in Val.

So Mufasa basically said that Val is an weak, nonathletic player with Javale McGee's IQ.

Man, every time he posts in a thread about Val the comparisons just get worse and worse.

On an irrelevant note, I like Alabi. I think that he has a place in the league as a role player.

Valanciunas and Motiejunas are different. Valanciunas is a Center. He has legit Center size and plays like one. He can shoot (as his FT percentage indicates) but prefers to operate in the post.

Motiejunas is primarily a stretch 4. He fancies himself as a shooter and prefers to operate on the perimeter. However, he is a bad FT shooter.

Personally, I prefer Valanciunas' playstyle a lot more.

I think people need to accept that he is a few years away from doing anything in the league.

If it makes you feel better.

JV would be extremely lucky if he could have a career like Chandler in the NBA.

The point was that it's senseless to form any sort of evaluation from those few minutes, for any player.

Even though he hasn't been playing well overall I think he still looked fairly good from a prospect standpoint, even against the US today. You can see he has nice hands with good technique keeping the ball up after entry passes, knows how to run the pick and roll, has good mobility, and show good form on FT, and seems like he will be at least a solid rebounder. He just isn't quite ready yet speed wise and experience wise. I do wish he was going to a team with a more P&R oriented PG.

He's likely going to be coming off the bench with Calderon and that's pretty much the only thing Jose can do at this point.

Really? JV would be extremely lucky to play good defense and average 8.6pts and 8.9rebs in his career? This is the same guy that almost got traded for Calderon and Reggie Evans..
