I believe the only way to really take a great step forward in this League, is by doing a kind of play that no other team here can do.

Well, Miami has LBJ, who can be a 1-2-3-4. But after that, we can be really inmatcheable if Josh plays the 3. Of course there will be some disadvantages. Especially, on offense. But nobody realizes how difficult for other teams would be to score inside, provided we get another 5 to our roster?
If that center was DH, the possibilities of locking down the paint with only three guys would be enormous. Something not seen before in the L.

Then, on offense, the first consequence would be that we should be able to run a lot more. Josh and Al can really run the court. Josh would increase his numbers a lot by finishing fastbreaks 3-4 times a game than from taking 3-4 long shots. Even Howard can run (or could run).

But, just in a more real scenario, when we just get a decent center, like Milicic, Dalembert, whoever, the possibilities of this phisical splendorous roster would be amazing.

At least we know how far we can get with the system we have been using for a few years already. Really are we going to play with the same system, just changing JJ out and replacing him with Louis? Or Korver-Stevenson for Marvin? Come on, that would be taking a couple of steps back, from a basketball point of view at least.

A different thing is if we talk about financial flexibility.

I think its been confirmed that Devin will start at SG. him and LD talked about how he was used with the mavericks. And Lou Will said that hes gonna be in a similar role as he had with the sixers if not increased role with the hawks.
