Do You Think The Suns Will Trade Up In Next Year's Draft

Post#1 » by Twuan89 » Sun Aug 5, 2012 12:03 am

Yea! Do you think the Suns trade up with the amount of draft picks that they have next year?

Also im still confused about Minnesota's 1st Round Draft Pick that the Suns are suppose to be receiving. I know it has something to do with a Memphis draft pick or something like that, can anyone help me out on whats the scenario of how that draft pick is suppose to work out for the Suns.

We will receive a pick if either Minnesota or Memphis makes the playoffs. If Minnesota does we get theirs, if Memphis does we get theirs. If both make the playoffs, we'll get worse. If both miss the playoffs we will have to wait until 2014 and so on. I hope it's understable.

To answer your question: Yes, I think it's obvios that we won't bring in possibly four rookies. It would take away our salary cap for Harden.

I think we will definitely try to...but I believe we will fail because the draft is considered shallow.

Trade our pick up? No, i dont think so, nor do i think we need to, as i think it will end up being a top 7 pick anyways.

This. Although we may get surprised and do semi well and end up with an end of the lotto pick, chances are we're already in the top 10. If we REALLY like a top 3 prospect, we're in great position to move up into the top 3 with our own pick plus any of the additional picks, probably the Minny pick being the next best asset as I definitely see them in the PO's this year as the 7th or 8th seed. So say 9th + 15th for 3rd just as an example, which seems okay value wise.

It really depends where we land and who's available. GSW didn't need to move up in this years draft because their perfect fit fell elright into their laps.

Too many factors to predict accurately but I hope so.

It depends on if there is someone with a better pick who is willing to trade down. And depending on who they target and where our pick lands we may or may not even have to. The good news is if the opportunity is there and it helps us get someone they really love then great at least we have a pile of tradeable assets. Either way we are set.

Hopefully we won't have to.

Yeah, hopefully the Suns suck horribly. I'm looking forward to having to watch that.
