The perfect quarter where Kobe scores 30 on 100% ft shooting vs. Utah (AK47 guarding him during AK's prime) and then Kobe blocks AK at the rim.

Best quarter of basketball I can remember. Absolute Laker pride. 19-19 FG + FT. He couldn't miss.

Not really a moment but I was watching the Kobe 81 point game recently, And Mihm played quite well, Especially on D.

He would have been a great Big to have coming off the bench as backup if he had managed to stay healthy.

I used to love the Van Exel, Jones, Ceballos, & Campbell Lakers

I have lots of good memories from that time, mostly involving chic

With the score tied at 85, ball rolls off Kobe's foot but recovered by Fish who has to jack up a quick jumper to beat the shot clock. Fish missed and Kobe jumps for the rebound before Robinson or Duncan can even jump and scores on the put back with 5.1 left. Sweet win since we we're down 10 points in the 4th.

Was this the great SA Mother's Day Choke game?

Pretty sure every real NBA fan remembers 75% of the moments ITT.

Everything Chick Hearn said in a game... In all honesty, at the time of his passing, I thought his significance to the organization was a little over-blown... I mean I liked hearing him call the games, but I didn't think it was that big a deal... I was spoiled...

All these years later, I recognize his greatness and how irreplaceable he was... He was a very large part of what made the Lakers the Lakers... Since he left us, I can honestly say, being a Laker fan is less enjoyable.

Magic's back-to-back 40 point games in the playoffs against the Suns in a losing effort. I believe it was in the '90 playoffs. I just remember thinking how he'd finally shut the doubters up who said he couldn't score like Jordan. The man could score with the best of them, but that wasn't his game.

Unfortunately our defense was stank and we got bounced easily, but man he put on a performance.

Another great memory (for me at least) is the first NBA game I ever went to back in 1990 (this one). It was the Lakers vs the Spurs, and with time winding down and the game tied in OT, Magic drove hard then dished it out to Scott for an open 3-pointer to win the game at the buzzer.

When Kareem broke Wilt's scoring record and they had a big pregame celebration or something with a banner and confetti

How about Shaq's 61-point game against the Clippers on his birthday?

I realized it the day he left this earth, I miss him. Truth is we still haven't found a consistent replacement and it's been a decade since Chick's death. I thought Spero was setting himself up to take the mantle, but he was a east coast kid at heart. It's not less enjoyable for me as a fan, but I can honestly say I don't even care who's calling a game and I haven't listened to a radio broadcast in years.

My most memorable moment was the '91 WCF's Game 6 We had a slight lead where Portland had to foul every time down. Portland missed a shot & everyone in the building & watching were waiting for Portland to foul again suddenly the ball was hurled down court while Portland's season ticked away as the ball rolled down court. It was whom else but Magic! The only one smart enough to throw that ball down court so they couldn't foul and season ticked away

Kobe has a terrible first half vs Clippers, we are losing badly until he goes HAM in the end second half and ends up with 50+ with bad percentages (due to the first half) but we win the game. Game is always hated on because of the fact that he had more than 50 on less than 50% shooting but he won that game by himself

This is one of my FAVORITE Kobe games ever. Whatever he was throwing up was falling for him during that hot stretch he had in the 2nd half. I also remember he cooled down a bit towards the end of the game, but still came through with the game winner.

Who remembers the following:

-97-98 season, Lakers @ Warriors. Shaq gets ejected early while the Warriors are completely killing us. 4th quarter begins and Lakers finally gain some momentum. A crazy comeback, featuring some big time plays from Kobe. Towards the end of the game, Warriors intentionally foul Glen Rice with the Lakers down 3. Rice hits the first but intentionally misses the second, Horry tries to tip it back in, but the ball just goes straight into the air. Kobe then comes out of nowhere to tip it in as the buzzer sounds! Game goes to OT where Lakers pull off an instant classic. :o

-07-08 season, Mavs @ Lakers. Lakers up 91-90 with few seconds remaining. Lamar at the line, misses the first. Kobe's down near the paint lined up for a possible rebound. Before Lamar shoots the second, JVG says something like "I wouldn't match up Brandon Bass with Kobe Bryant for the rebound. Kobe is an excellent rebounder who is too experienced." Of course, Lamar misses the second FT and Kobe comes up with the offensive rebound

-Lamar having 17 rebounds, 18 rebounds, 19 rebounds, then 20 rebounds in consecutive games back in 08-09.

-Can't remember if this was the 07-08 season or 08-09 but this was also a Mavs @ Lakers game. I remember it being a close finish and with the Mavs throwing doubles at Kobe basically all game long, the Lakers executed to perfection. I recall Kobe passing to LO or Pau and both of them playing some beautiful two man basketball to close out the game. Does anybody know what game I'm talking about?

and also this:

BTW, great thread. I love going down memory lane. Us Laker fans are lucky to have had so many great memories to witness.

When Dennis Rodman forgot to bring his shoes to practice and Kurt Rambis pretty much cut him on the spot (Poor Rambis, first coaching job and he had to deal with 73)

Did anyone else hear Rodman is writing a children's book?

I remember when the lakers grabbed Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Antwan Jamison, and barbosa all in within a month. What a fabulous time that was.
