He is a really good assistant coach. Good luck to him in ATL.

Man, is it so hard for some of you guys to just wish people all the best and success for their future?

Honestly...the amount of bitterness and contempt bubbling underneath some of y'all is appalling. The "good riddance" attitude only highlights a sense of butthurtism...not sure why though.

Atkinson is highly regarded around the league. He was dedicated to this team and the players under him. It's disappointing that he's leaving this team but it's understandable considering the new direction & changes this team is headed towards. Wishing him all the best and hopefully he'll be able to contribute even more to whichever team he works for next.

You are not sure why? Because it is called being "loyal". Lmao at some knick fans. In all seriousness you make a legit point. Some Knick fans are dummies. They call for loyalty to an owner who is an idiot and who could care less about the fans.

No, I think that most would suggest that you do the one thing that would effectively express your displeasure. Stop watching. It's like going to a restaurant with lousy food, complaining and then coming back the following weekend.

You want to stick it to Dolan? Root for the Nets. Easy and convenient.

In the meantime, if you're getting any flack, it's probably from people that grow tired of bitching and whining. Not you per say, but in general. "You no like, you go away".
Words to live by.

Seemed like he did a good job. Thus I am not surprised that we didnt try to keep him.

Typical Knicks....

No, it doesn't seem that way.

Atkinson's specialty is player development.

None of those other coaches you mentioned are known for that.

And D'Antoni was not made from the same cloth as JVG and Thibs.

Agreed that D'Antoni is very different from JVG and Thibodeau. But I was saying that Atkinson since he worked under D'Antoni and prior to that JVG and Thibodeau in Houston is cut from the same cloth as all of them and thus could make for a good coach one day. I do agree that those coaches are not known for player development which is probably why they had Atkinson on board. With that said I believe working under those guys and being a film rat could make Atkinson a very good coach one day.
