Are you saying "D21 making movies >>> than showing up for his eponymous camp (aka previous known engagement" ?

Well lets see, would Dwight prefer to make a bunch of cash or please a roomful of kids...

Last time I checked, he really wasn't into pleasing small markets ;)

Yup. I loved that he already showed leadership skills in the SL. I think being around BBD will help continue to mold him into a leader for the future.

Plus we need as many big bodies as possible to throw at other teams.

Be prepared to be scrutinized even more. I'm just posting this as news, I don't want no "gay marriage" debate as they're doing on the general board.

I think the Devos' have a strong case of the George W Bush virus aka stupidity....

Keep your politics and profound ignorance to yourself. This is a SPORTS board. And of course Obummer is a genius, right? LMAO.

We still need to wait for Liggins and Ish to resign I think. Liggins is way too good and a straight up defender specialist for Henny to let go though I think, so we gotta be getting him back eventually.

Im happy to see O'Quinn clearly fits the program for the new Magic with Nicholson too, now we have more youth that will play hard and with the right mentality.

I'm not a mod, so feel free not to listen to me. However, I DO NOT want this thread locked up, so please keep the political and religious debates out of this thread. Let's keep it real, we all go off topic in this thread, but when it comes to politics and religion the thread gets out of hand.

So.....

If you want to talk about POLITICS, then there is a sub forum for that: viewforum.php?f=69

If you want to talk about RELIGION, then there is kind of a sub forum for that: viewforum.php?f=265

You guys deserve this, you let this happen.

I am happy for Kyle, he seems like a good guy. Kyle is a guy who will become a fan favorite here. The fact is Orlando fans like guys who play hard (we are not hard to please) and who don't act like a cross dressing woman every time they get a chance. I think He can handle that, I really do. I love that from this draft we got a couple guys who will play and get a chance to become better and who also compliment each other.

Kyle and his war cries are a welcome addition to the new Orlando Magic direction.

He just needs to take that enthusiasm to the weight room and get up to ~265 if he wants to play good minutes at C in the NBA.

True, Hell be fine though. Most rookie post players come in A little small and need to bulk up.

Time to get this back on track. Let's go.

Denton's Action and Reaction: Aug. 7
By John Denton
August 7, 2012

ORLANDO – For every action there’s a reaction. So let’s look at some of the major happenings around the NBA and react to the news:

ACTION: Orlando Magic star center Dwight Howard cancels his appearance at his kids’ camp next week in Orlando.

REACTION: Howard has held his camp in Orlando for several years and has done more work in the community than any player in Magic history, so some latitude should be given to the big man. Also, the company conducing the camp has replaced Howard with rookie forward Andrew Nicholson and his offering refunds to those unhappy that Howard won’t be attending...

The Free Agency Scrap Heap
By Chris Bernucca
August 07, 2012 at 2:20 PM

We are down to the bargain bin of free agency.

Reduced for clearance! Everything must go! Up to 90 percent off!

Yes, we know Mickael Pietrus and Derek Fisher aren’t exactly scrap heap material. Both were key players for playoff teams last season, as were Leandro Barbosa and Kenyon Martin.

But most of what is left falls into three categories: Olympians, amnesty victims and veterans too proud to take minimum deals.

There is some variety remaining at both forward spots and shooting guard but little left at center and the point...

New Orlando Magic Jacque Vaughn wants Glen Davis to show up in shape
By Eric Freeman | Ball Don't Lie – Fri, Aug 3, 2012 7:40 PM EDT

Over his five-season NBA career (and three season at LSU), Orlando Magic forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis has become particularly famous for being fairly overweight. While Davis carries his weight pretty well — he's mobile and athletic — he will never be the picture of the in-shape professional athlete. That's just who he is, I suppose, and anyone who works with him has probably gotten used to it by now.

However, new Orlando Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn has a different set of expectations for Davis. When the Magic report to training camp this fall, Vaughn expects him to be in much better shape. From Josh Robbins for The Orlando Sentinel (via SLAM):...
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” - Laozi

We pick Hennigan and Utah picks Lindsey. Going to keep my eye on the choices made from these two GMs. Hopefully, we made the right choice.
