Putting aside whether your tone is just an attempt to troll, I agree with bennith.
It's a low risk/high reward move since we can cut ties with him very earily, which Pete often does. With the Seahawks looking to be contenders in the division, and the possibility of a new Sonics arena being built [and the Kings coming to town and becoming the Sonics] I think this year will be extremely exciting for Seattle sports fans.

First you guys need to decide on a QB. I thought Flynn was going to be a great signing, but from what I have read he has struggled. I read Russel will be your #2 & Jackson your #3. You might have the worst receiver core in the NFL. Signing TO who last played for an arena team until they cut him. Good luck with that.

Re: TO
I don't know what you have been reading, but everything I have heard on the radio and read online has said Flynn has looked good and will most likely be the starter... as evidenced by Pete's decision to name him the starter on Saturday. Even with that, whatever direction Pete goes it will be fine.
As for the receivers, Hyperbole much? No way this is the wr core in the league. Sidney Rice is good, Golden Tate is very talented, Deon Butler who will probably be cut is more then adequate, from all I have heard Braylon Edwards looks awesome. If TO works out great, thats good for him and the team, if not, the team will be fine.
Also I would look for Zack Miller, Kellen Winslow, and the TE's to be much more involved in the passing game this year as our O line as developed and is developing.
This is going to be a fun year. There is a nice vibe and excitement around the camp. It will be fun to see how the team has progressed.
Things around Seattle are looking up. Seahawks will be good, mariners are someone looking better, and the King's are on their way here with the news that the arena here is going to be built.

Re: TO
Why does the team need to decide on a qb first? Talent is talent. A great rb,great receivers or great o-line can make a qb look better(the reverse is also true). I do not much care fore TO as I think he is a prima donna but the assertion that his signing means anything about the qb position is absurd. It does say something about the wr position but not the qb

Of course Flynn's going to struggle in camp...he's facing off against the best defense in the league every day. I'm sure he'll be ecstatic to play against other team's defenses for a bit.

// shrug. instead of voicing ill-informed opinions, you could have just asked people who actually follow this team why they thought owens was signed.
obviously it's all about health in this league, but rice is a legit #1 option. baldwin had 50 catches and 800 yards as a rookie, he and TO can fight it out for #2.

Re: TO
TO is a joke and i hope he never sets foot in a regular season game as a seahawk. there are reasons why he was kicked off an arena league team last year.

Re: TO
We've gone through lots of wr camp fodder before. Our locker room is too solid for his antics to effect anything very drastically. I can only imagine what you would have said just previous to Mike Williams having the ridiculously awesome first year he had for us. There is little or no expectations of T.O. doing anything with us, you just don't like that south Alaska is in the news for a controversial player.
That and over a 1/3 of your posts are trolling... btw hows that Kirilenko is washed up theory going for you so far this Olympics?

Re: TO
How many Seahawks' fans [not non-Seahawks fans who are following this from afar] are really worried about T.O.'s behavior? I, quite frankly, am not in the slightest for a couple reasons:
[1] Solid locker room: As previously mentioned, our locker room doesn't have many issues.
[2] Pete's persona: When PC came to Seattle, I was one of many who didn't really think his persona would play well with a roomful of non-college athletes. And that's been incorrect. The players really seem to buy into what he is doing. He's good at communicating with players, and I think he can handle a different personality or two.
[3] Pete's quick trigger: When Pete thinks a player isn't with the program, that players is gone, regardless of the name and prior ties. When LenDale White showed up out of shape and not doing what the coaching staff wanted, he was gone. When Mike Williams showed up looking a little less than svelte this season [it may be a rumor but the pictures of him in is jersey this year were quite telling] the team parted ways with him. When Jeremy Lane started trying to start a fight during practice, his day was done. Pete wants to win, and he wants to win now. He won't keep a player around who's openly jeopardizing the team's chances.
All the reports so far about how T.O. has looked in practice have been hugely positive. There is no reason for the national media to make this into a positive story...they do better when they make things into negative stories.
Plus, guys liked Sando noted the other WR seem to have upped their game since T.O. arrived. Pete likes to compete...now the WR know exactly what they have to compete against.

Go home troll. Your antics are sophomoric. I'd go into detail but I'm afraid I can't express myself monosyllabicly enough for you to understand.

simply paying attention could answer many of your questions. outside of peyton manning, russell wilson has probably been THE story of the nfl preseason.

mostly just better options. He looked great in practice, but Braylon Edwards has looked pretty great surprisingly. At the depth T.O. was slotted to play Pete likes to go young.

Re: TO
I don't think he'll be counted on much, though he's been shockingly good in preseason. Baldwin at the slot is possibly the best at that position in the division. Rice's only question mark is health (albeit a big question). We're definitely banking on Tate to emerge this year, but we have Obamanu as a solid reliable backup.
I do think we'll expect our TE's to be active receivers, though. It benefits lynch/turbin to have the extra blockers, too.
