As soon as Gasol AND Bynum are on the market, there's room and potential to make a better deal. At that point, I don't know why we don't find a way to land both Gasol and Bynum and flip Gasol.

Seriously! Lakers would be giving up Bynum + Pau for Dwight + Harrington? We can't get them anything better than Harrington in order to get Bynum + Pau??

Afflalo would be a major draw for Magic because Scott Perry loves him and perception is he'll outplay his contract going forward. Cont ->

Gasol makes no sense whatsoever. Guy is a soft, overpaid, old center. He's a liability. Why do we take that on?

I was a big Rashard fan as well.. I don't really get why that means players shouldn't wear #9 though. unless you're implying #9 should be retired

IMO teams shouldnt retire numbers unless they were like the best players in the league. reshard was good but definitely not ELITE

Nah, I wasn't implying we should have retired Rashard, heck no, just associate that number with Rashard.

Gasol is very good, IMO, but doesnt fit in a rebuilding team. No need at all.

CSNNW.com has learned that the Orlando Magic and new head coach Jacque Vaughn asked for permission to interview Griffin for their lead assistant position to which the Bulls denied the request.

Apparently, the Bulls are only allowing him to interview for head coaching positions.

Most of the time, a lead assistant role is the final step in becoming a legitimate head coaching candidate. Again, that's not always the path. However, a lead job for Griffin would most definitely be a step in the right direction.

A. Woj wrote:A deal is not considered imminent, but the talks have grown serious over the course of this week, sources said.

There are multiple moving parts in the fluid talks, but the framework of a possible deal includes Howard and Denver forward Al Harrington going to the Lakers, Philadelphia guard Andre Iguodala going to the Nuggets, Los Angeles center Andrew Bynum moving to the 76ers, and Los Angeles forward Pau Gasol and Denver guard Arron Affalo going to the Magic, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Magic would have a better chance of moving Gasol in another deal to get further assets, sources said, and eliminate the risk of Bynum leaving them as a free agent in 2013. Nevertheless, there was still a sense that Gasol's and Bynum's destinations could be fluid in the talks. Either way, one would go to Orlando and the other to Philadelphia, sources said.

The proposed deal includes the Magic also gaining draft picks and salary-cap relief, sources said.

I think Gasol is underrated around here. I'd welcome him without hesitation. Don't forget he becomes a huge expiring next season.

If we got Bynum and Afflalo, I'd be more content.

The Lakers haven't been able to flip Gasol for role players, so idk why the Magic think they'd be able to. ¯\(ツ)/¯

I think we the Magic are looking for expiring deals, aka trash!!! that came with draft picks for start rebuilding in the next year. My question is what draft could we get from either Philly or Nuggets?
