I'd love Faried, but we need a center, not another pf. Faried would be an undersized center. He plays bigger, but I can't see him really filling a hole long term since we already have Nicholson/BBD.

I guess the real things to take out of all of this is that the Magic have more than one option for trade partners, which means we now have a bidding war. I dont think this trade will happen, but atleast we now know that Houston are going to likely up their offer. This is nothing but good news...

+1

Though, Masai Ujiri isn't Isaiah Thomas or Otis Smith.

If LA is now willing to deal Bynum and Gasol, why not do a straight up swap with the Magic instead of this 4 way team dealings?Dwight for Bynum/Gasol..what did i miss?

Rudolph asked the same dumb question ;)

Cuz what do we have that LA wants? We don't have anybody as productive as Harrington and fits that offense (he is a good stretch-4). I said months ago we should've tried Dwight + S&T Ryno + JRich for Bynum + Gasol, which I think would've made WAY more sense for both teams....but for whatever reason it didn't happen.

Dude you're acting like Al Harrington is anything more than serviceable. I actually see him as kind of redundant since the Lakers have Jamison and could sign Kenyon Martin if they wanted to as well.

Considering the fact that the Lakers desperately need bench scoring and have Steve Nash now Jason Richardson would actually be an asset for them. BBD just had a good playoff run.

I don't see how a trade of package of Dwight/BBD/Jrich isnt better than a package of Dwight/Harrington. And trust me I know we have little-to-no assets, I just think that Dwight/Harrington package is a pretty garbage return for Gasol/Bynum.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... ial01.html

His per/36min numbers (which is what matter because he would be starting) are very comparable to Pau's, slightly less rebounding but they'll have DWIGHT HOWARD. Won't be much of a problem. Jamison's are very similar as well, yes....but if that nets them Dwight Howard then all you are doing is adding depth with Harrington and Jamison, both of whom are stretch-4s (which Pau really isn't). They are building a system that works perfectly. Nash + Kobe + Metta + stretch-4 + Dwight. Harrington is also much more accustomed to a system where they run the floor, which I'm sure they will try to do with Nash and Dwight. BBD wouldn't fit that at all. I also think Magic really really like BBD and his leadership and such now.

I read from Ken Berger twitter that if Magic got Gasol they would try to trade him anyway. So maybe Magic don't want Gasol and that is why he is staying with the Lakers for now.

Standing by my report earlier today that J-Rich was told he will be most likely be a Nugget. He's said to be optimistic about the move.

Denver:
in: Iggy + JRich
out: Afflalo + Harrington

man... it'd be nice to get Wilson Chandler back. he's on such a good contract for what he's capable of doing/being.

All that's really been confirmed is that the FO will not touch Bynum and he is never coming here in any deal

Barring any last minute snag, D-Howard will be a Laker by tomorrow. Bynum will be in Philly. And we'll all expect a Lakers/Heat Finals.

Does not explain why Orlando would do this trade.

Stephen A has NEVER considered what is good for Orlando in any of his analysis. All he ever says is "Orlando fans just want this to be over, they don't care what they get as long as Dwight is gone."
Ridiculous.
If it doesn't involve a big city, he has zero interest in it.

We would have a team FULL of guys making like $6-$8 mil a year. What does everybody think? Would you rather have a couple of max guys and a bunch of small-contract roll players or a bunch of B-level players playing together at about $6-$8mil a year?

Something is obviously missing from what has been reported, especially if the Magic are getting neither Bynum nor Gasol. The Denver part doesn't make sense -- getting Iguodala for Afflalo. As reported, the Magic get the worst of the deal, even though they're trading the best player. It's like the Magic are merely facilitating a Dwight/Bynum deal.

I think the one thing everybody should be (hopefully) confident in is that the Magic org isn't going to rush into anything. It took them weeks/months to deal with the Stan/Otis situation. It took them weeks/months to hire a GM and a coach. They are being EXTREMELY methodical and vetting everything to the n-th level before making decisions. It's the anti-Otis method. I don't think they are going to just rush into any trade before thinking it through, and making sure to dot every i and lower-case j.

Any inclusion of Lawson gets this thing going. Id also love Q Miller and Faried, even without Lawson. I dont like Turner at all, Harkless looks ok though to develop. If we don't get Gasol even, then we'd hopefully be coming out with a couple of those four I like, with like 3-5 1sts and Afflalo. I see a legit, to-develop rotation of Afflalo/Liggins/JJ at SG with Q Miller/Harkless at SF, Faried/Nicholson at PF/C and finally 3-5 1sts with our own lotto pick selection.

The best center of this generation. Without question, in a fair deal, Orlando gets back both Bynum and Gasol for Dwight.
Unfortunately... that bird flew the coop a long time ago.

Uh, why am I supposed to get excited about Arron Afflalo again? Five years in and he is solid, but far from special. If we end up with him and Gasol I will literally cry myself to sleep.
