If you were a Lakers fan, would you care?

You would be surprised by the fact that some fans do care more about luxury tax as opposed to fielding as good of a team as possible.

Apparently the luxury Tax meant something to some fans in justifying not to sign a certain player.

They are getting 3 first round picks as well, I believe - one from each team.

Okay then. That's pretty impressive. At least the heat won't be winning back-to-back championships.

since the knicks likely are not winning one I can settle with the knowledge that the heat won't win back to back. thank god for small favors.

This is an easy one though... and I technically lost one to GONYK.. I thought D'antoni was going to get canned around the first time we played Houston last year and it didn't happen until later.

I'll make it a fair one.. if LA and OKC meet in any round and LA wins you put whatever I wish as your screen name... if OKC wins I'll do the same.. no cuss words or pseudo cuss words like chit and phuck.

This is a ridiculous post.

If that was the Knicks starting lineup you'd be yelling championship at the top of your lungs. Stop being hypocrite.

Who are their shooters? What happens if Dwights back flares up again? Is Gasol still gonna play like a 7 foot puss? I dont buy the hype.

Must read!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Hennigan

Quote:
Rob Hennigan is the general manager of the Orlando Magic, and the biggest joke in the NBA. At age 30, he is the youngest GM in the league, a fact taken advantage of by multiple other GMs who convinced Hennigan to trade away his best player while acquiring the NBA equivalent of two boxes of Pringles.[1]

Somebody just changed it lol. But it was like this like 3 minutes ago.

Heh, yeah, I see people excited about the Knicks getting Camby as their backup center. The Lakers get a 26-year-old top-3 player and people talk about their age.

Lakers can't trade a first for a very long time.

Cap wise the deal seems to fit for everyone give or take a filler or 2. Any other major name with a big contract would not work. So Gasol is staying put.

Magic get

Arron Afflalo
Al Harrington
Nikola Vucevic
Maurice Harkless
3 protected first rounders

Those picks probably wont be lotto picks.

Harrington and Afflao combined make near max money for 3 more years.

For Orlando. This is not a rebuild trade. Its not a continue to compete trade. They settled. Call me crazy but I would have pushed NYK for stat and shump. Or even better. Dumped him on draft night for a TPE and a high lotto pick.

DISCLAIMER:

Im not saying I would be in favor or against a NYK deal. I just would have preferred Amare over Harrington and Afflalo at that price.
