We're going to take a PR beating in the short term. Cleaning it up is a strategic problem, not a tactical one. We won't have money for a max free agent until 2014 anyway.

It's not going to be short term. Dwight will talk about it for the rest of his career. We have soured relationships with EVERY superstar we've ever had:
Shaq
Penny
TMac
G Hill
Dwight

My god, we are worse than the clippers.

Yup, 2017 at the earliest. Which isn't bad, considering Nash, Kobe, Pau would all be gone by then...BUT, it's probably lottery protected so who gives a ****

You really think the Lakers will end up in the lottery???? Ever???

Hate them all you want... but I wish the Magic were run a tenth as good as that organization is.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA

Final Nets offer Orlando rejected in July: Lopez, Humphries (1 year, $9.6M), Brooks, 4 unprotected No. 1's for Howard, JRich, Duhon, Clark.

Would have taken this.

When have we ever had trouble luring free agents when we have cap space? And hopefully with the rebuild Hennigan can sell prospective free agents the idea os playing with an up and coming group, and maybe by then we'll have drafted our next franchise player(s). A lot of guys wanted the OKC model. Well here you have it.

I appreciate the valiant attempts at levity, but I still wanna choke a dolphin right now, and that's NOT a euphemism.

When the time comes, I doubt prospective free agents will care about what Screamin A Smith said about a trade we made 2 years prior.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Michael Smith ‏@michaelsmith
However it would be hilarious - and fitting - if Magic management were to pull a Dwight and changed their minds overnight.

Why? What do we get in that trade that we don't get in this trade? I hope you have something better to say than Brook Lopez.

We will now. We now have a history of pissing off stars. Again:

Shaq
Penny
TMac
G Hill
Dwight

That is EVERY star we've ever had and we pissed all of them off.

Yeh but to be honest...I think about 90% of the league sees Dwight as the diva in this situation and not the Magic.

unprotected #1's and a solid expiring. Lopez I am not crazy about, but I'm sure eventually we could flip him, especially if he was our starting center and likely first choice option which would have elevated his stats.

I hated that NJ offer...but no doubt is it better than this deal. Basically five first rounders (4 + Brooks) with less protection (minor...unless...)...same amount of contracts going out...plus Lopez who we could have dealt somewhere else. There is nothing about this current deal that is better than that one.

Yo yo yo, hold your horses...

Marc J. Spears ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo

The Magic will receive a second round pick from the Nuggets in the Dwight Howard trade that is a 2013 Warriors pick, source tells Y! Sports.
