Now that the Nets final offer was made public this deal is even worse.

Only thing that could save Hennigans face would be Dwight Howard coming back as a cripple after his back surgery.

Lol at orlando. How anyone can like that trade is beyond me. I feel so sorry for the magic but even sorrier at their delusional fans that like this trade.

Say what you want about the Lakers, there's no denying that Mitch Kupchak and the Lakers FO do an absolutely brilliant job at running the organization. This goes well beyond the fact that they play in a big market. Sure, pulling the trigger on the Gasol, Nash, CP3, and D12 trades were pretty much no brainers, but the FO always seems to make the right decisions, even in the face of controversy or fan disapproval. For example:

They drafted 17-year-old Andrew Bynum with the 10th pick when he received virtually no hype entering the draft. Many fans were upset when the Lakers passed on bigger names like Danny Granger or Gerald Green.

They refused to trade Andrew Bynum for Jermaine O'Neal in 2007 when Kobe Bryant was demanding his way out because of his lack of a supporting cast. Keep in mind this was when Bynum had proved absolutely nothing in the NBA. Most Laker fans were absolutely irate at Kupchak for this.

They held on to Kobe when he was demanding out and all hope of building a contender looked lost.

They refused to trade Bynum for Carmelo Anthony in early 2011 when Anthony was clearly the better player.

They traded Odom for virtually nothing after the vetoed CP3 trade. Looked like a stupid trade at the time, but they wind up getting Steve Nash because of it.

Sure, the Lakers have made their mistakes here and there, but their management has to be among the shrewdest of all in sports.

David Aldridge ‏@daldridgetnt

The Howard trade conference call is expected to take place in a couple of hours. No snags expected.

i have a problem with stupid decisions. look at orlando, they could hae done better, by far. and when you see the lakers profiting like this from this trade there is no surprise for me that everyone believe that this league is a show and not fair anymore.

Not really though. Lopez with that contract makes the NJ deal considerably worse.

This has nothing to do with small or big market the Magic had better offers and they were still on the table this is about them being a terrible organization. Even Sterling wouldn't consistently let this type of crap happen my god to give Dwight to the one team that you have the bad history wit . They should of traded him to Houston or BK

So the magic didn't even get gasol. The picks are reported to be lottery protected. So they got nothing. The nets trade looks much better. Wtf were orlando thinking. They just traded howard for nothing. really nothing. every other team in this deal won but the magic.

So the lakers have nash, kobe, gasol, and howard. yeah that's fair.

He really fits them perfectly.

Runs the floor like a beast, lockdown D, great catch and shoot 3pt player. With Gallo and Lawson he's not gonna have to worry about offense as much, and just focus on what makes him great.

I love this move for Denver, it gives them room to extend Lawson aswell which is the number 1 goal is that franchise anyways with the 20 orso mil they saved here - AND they give Faried a key role as the undisputed PF of the team.

I just really really love this for them. Hope Gallo and Lawson can be injury free and start fulfilling their potential.

Not to mention that the Karl wants his guards to rebound the ball and push the break, two things Iguodala does well. They're also they best team in the league at getting to the rim, which is where thrives.

I can see Iguodala averaging 15/7/7 next year, what say you?

And I agree on Faried. That is huge. Getting rid of Harrington pretty much guarantees him minutes, and he's going to beast because of it. I could see him getting close to his per 36 numbers, which are nuts.

Faried and McGee are going to benefit from playing with a willing assist man in Iguodala, not to mention the best lob passer in the game (andre miller).

Nash throw the alley-oop to Howard...Kobe intercepts the pass and forces an off-balance 20-footer...misses...blames Gasol.

that may be true, but Dwight pouting his way out has nothing to do with how competent the management is.

for the millionth time

Harrington's is unguaranteed. Afflalo can be moved easily. The same can't be said of Lopez.

People only hate the deal because it made the Lakers better. Any trade that makes the Lakers better is a bad one, and is fixed by the league. People are hardly talking about the fact that Denver and Philly both got better as well.

No it's about history. How about you name me one trade the lakers have made in the past 20 years that they didn't win by a landslide. and I think this was a land slide btw. Yes bynum was a good player but not as good as people make him out to be.

This kind of stuff just makes me want to stop being a fan. We have the worse product, where only 3 teams or so a year have a shot at a championship.

We have by far, without a doubt, the most despicable disgusting athletes in the world. They are all scum. And now they're just cherry picking playing with other elite players so they don't ever have to compete or be the leader of the team. They'll never be another Jordan, hell they'll never be another Kobe because Kobe would go play with Tim Duncan and Shaq as they force each other onto the team of their choice with no repercussions.

I really hate the NBA, and I without a doubt hate it's "stars". We're a no salary cap away from that trash sport of baseball.

It might be time to start watching hockey and football during the winter.

Kwame for Caron

Shaq for Odom, Caron, and Bruan Grant considering Kobe/Lamar/Caron only played 44 games together

Nick Van Exel for Tyron Lue. They got forced into this by Shaq birthing to management as Jerry West admitted, he had a Kidd for Van Exel deal agreed upon but Shaq didn't want that guy on his team.

Eddie and Elden for Rice is debatable as well but Rice helped us get a ring, even though Eddie and Elden would have been better under Phil than Harris

---
They turned Bynum, Odom, Kwame/Caron/Marc into Dwight, Nash, and Pau. Just shows the difference between management who treated their team like a business because they need it to thrive and be relavnt as their only income source and owners who have teams but act like they are side
Rejects because they make money elsewhere

How much luxury tax are the LAL going to pay in the next few years? Why is no one in the media talking about this? The repeater tax is nothing for them?

This league really needs a hard cap with no restrictions on contracts. Only way stars get their real money's worth and the stars won't all join 1 team cause everybody wants more money.
