Just to put the Lakers FO in perspective.. people were laughing at them for being over the cap and unable to do anything until Kobe's contract is up and would stay mediocre. Well.. they just got a former MVP and the best centre in the game in one off season. Unbelievable.

John Hollinger ‏@johnhollinger

Go easy on Hennigan. Hearing Orl Pres Alex Martins likely ran this one. Always good to have non-bball folks make critical decision.

If this is true Hennigan should quit immediately

Wow, Orlando fans must hate the Lakers. They've stolen their franchise player twice in the past 16 years lmao. Mind you, it's probably easier for Orlando fans to say goodbye to D12 than it was with Shaq.

Nah D12 was their love and poster child. Orlando didn't like Shaq and thought he was gonna be overpaid, hence why he left.

It's true that there was most likely some strong arming going on but when you actually look at the transaction in detail you will see that Magic did get picks and minimal salary back.

It's just that at first glance the trade looks rigged because LA literally loses nothing.

this is insane. I can't believe Bynum isn't going to the Magic. what a horrible move by the Magic.

Lakers come out on top, but Philly killed it. Bynum is going to take that team to top 4 of the East next season.

What we did is uninstalled him and upgraded him to a better version.

Bynum = Vista (serviceable but has internal issues)

Howard = Windows 7 (noticeably better OS)

If Bynum stays healthy Philadelphia is the real winner here.
Y'all talking about World Peace / Bryant / Nash like it's 2004 or something.

Sure, but you also gave up Bynum and got 3 players back. One of them being Howard. Terrible for Orlando. It sucks being a fan and having no control over the FO. They are screwing up again.

Seriously does Bynum become a superstar? He could average like 24/12/2 on Philly as the #1 option. Smh had the haters saying Philly didn't get better (other Atlantic division fans)

Does anyone see Bynum staying in Philly though? They gave up Iguodala for a 1 yr rental of Bynum, unless I'm missing something?

Some serious overrating of Nets/Sixers going on with talk of them being possibly 2nd and 3rd best teams in the East with serious underrating of Hawks/Bulls both slotted to either just make or miss the playoffs.....

Holliday, Turner and Bynum is a scary thing for the east indeed.

They might upset a top seed, something similar to what Indiana almost did this playoffs.
