Aye? The Nuggets were more than willing to max out Anthony. They offered to give him as much as possible for as long as possible...on multiple occassions...including a last ditch effort to see if hed change his mind just before the deal was done. Anthony was the one that didnt want to be there....just like with Howard. Orlando would have not done this trade if Howard wanted to be there.

This is so crazy. For one Howard can no longer be doubled, when you have shooters like Nash, Kobe, and Gasol waiting for a open jump shot. The Lakers still have a decent bench. If we ever thought the Heat dream team was unfair, where do you place this one. I mean, 4 all-stars in your starting line up. lol. wow. This team is better than the USA team.... lol.

The only good thing about his, as a Knick fan, is that we don't have to hear or see Howard on the Nets mid-season. No way the Nets will end up with him.

The East will be very competitive this year. No speacial order but look at contenders.

Knicks, Heat, Sixers, Pacers, Celtics, Nets, and Hawks.
No push over teams that might or not be playoff teams.

Orlando, Bucks, Bulls and the Cavs will be a better team this year.

1st positive--Howard didn't end up in Brooklyn

2nd positive--Lebron won't win any title the next two years IMO...there is no way he can score so many points close to the basket with Howard and Gasol guarding the paint.

That Laker team might be the best team of the post Jordan era.

The Magic will receive a second round pick from the Nuggets in the Dwight Howard trade that is a 2013 Warriors pick, source tells Y! Sports.

now it makes sense

Now that's a coup for them. What a steal...

Howard's rehabbing from back surgery. Nash is 39. Kobe is getting up there too. Not sure this trade puts the Lakers ahead of OKC this year.

All teams involved, other than the Magic, have improved quite a bit from this trade.

The Lakers now have a starting 5 of: Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace, Pau Gasol, & Dwight Howard.

The Nuggets add Andre Iguodala without really losing any pieces of significance.

The Sixers lose Iguodala, but pick up Andrew Bynum & Jason Richardson.

(If the Sixers would have keep Brand, they could have had a starting 5 of: Jrue Holiday, Evan Turner, Thaddeus Young, Elton Brand, & Andrew Bynum. Now I guess Young will be the starting 4, and I don't know who they would start at the 3. Maybe Young still starts at the 3, and Hawes moves to the starting 4.)

The Magic's GM is a EPIC FAIL.

At least the Knicks got three 40 year olds, a PG nobody else wanted, and lost Jeremy Lin for nothing.

Dolan/Grunwald for the win! Championship!!! [/green font]

Lakers get Duhon? The Miami Heat collectively breathe a sigh of relief as their chances to defend their title just increased significantly.

Stop the presses another second round pick added:

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA

The Magic will receive five draft picks in the four-team deal. Sources say they'll get three first-round picks and two second-round picks.

Lol settle down. Agree they look good but two of their major key guys are really getting up there in age.

This is why a small market team needs to deal their star the year before his contract year if it's not clear he's staying. See deron. Utah got favors lotto pick and gs lotto pick.

You seriously can't think of another team that might have had worse luck than Orlando in the last 15 years?

Not a temporal comparison, but franchise history comparison.
