It would make the draft lottery look completely rigged and I can't imagine the NBA being that stupid. Those who believe it's legitimate would have no argument. If the Magic are doing this to tank, I am not sure if it will work. As it is, I don't see myself following basketball next season. The Lakers getting yet another beneficial trade handed to them is getting disgusting at this point.
You didn't watch the year KG and Ray Allen joined the Celtics? Sucks, you really missed out on a good one.
Ray Allen was older at this point and making a lot of money. I wouldn't consider it lopsided. The Lakers acquiring Shaq, Kobe, Gasol, and Howard are all lopsided. The Lakers have benefitted from 4 very lopsided acquisitions in the last 20 years, and the Celtics have benefitted from 1. Nice try.
How the hell was signing Shaq outright as a FA lopsided?...such ridiculous whining.
And giving up Bynum for Dwight isn't as lopsided as you are making it seem, especially since before this trade actually happened many considered it to be much better than Brook Lopez, or a bunch of rookies from Houston. The only thing that makes it seem lopsided is that the Magic didn't actually get Bynum in this deal...but don't blame that on LA, they still gave him up.

Not sure why people keep posting that Orlando go shafted. Last time checked Orlando has the best piece of the trade and settle for what they settled for. They didnt even want Bynum for their own reasons. In the end Orlando was going to get the short end of the stick in this draft anyway but this still gives the ability to start over. They have solid role players and will be collecting lottery picks for the next 3 seasons atleast not including the picks they got in this trade which could be used as trade-able pieces later. This wasnt a move for this team short term.
Another thing you guys have to realize especially about the Houston deal is that they werent going to really go all in with the risk of Howard walking.

Looking forward to the announcement party where Kobe tells us how many rings we're going to win and Nash talks about how easy it'll be while Howard is next to him with a goofy grin.

Though not going to say this wasn't inevitable. Because it was. Dwight to the Lakers was written in the stars. It was so obviously going to happen at some point. As a Jazz fan I was just hoping they had to ship out both Bynum and Pau when they inevitably acquired Dwight.

Re: Completed Dwight trade talk II
Congrats to REAL Laker fans. You guys had one of the best bargaining chips in the league for Howard. And shouldn't care about crap people talk when jealous fans say you're lucky. This was nothing to do with luck. The only team that should be at blame for this is the Magic who took one of the oddest packages for a superstar I can ever remember.
Magic had been my 2nd/3rd favorite team ever since I got a Penny Hardaway jersey a couple years after I started watching B Ball. However, the incompetency they've shown as a franchise cannot allow me to even cheer for them or commiserate. I felt sorry when Dwight handicapped them, and figured they'd at least stand strong and get a legit package from a team like Houston or Atlanta. But for their fans to go through the stuff Otis did and now this crap, I can honestly say I would not blame their fans for jumping ship. And this is coming from a Warriors fan. We have had more misses and blunders in the last 30 years than any other team, but we never had a trade chip like Howard and failed so hard.
I'll end this post with a warning for everyone to prepare for an INSANE bandwagon and the return of Laker fans who abandoned them after 2 straight 2nd round losses and now will be claiming "best everz lolz" plus many Kobe can't win trollz to counteract them. This is gonna be disgusting comedy.

Is it confirmed that Howard will sign extension? Or is that still up in the air?

Whens this deal going down officially? Kinda weird that it hasn't been official yet?
Hennigen better NOT pull out of this deal now or else the whole league will blacklist him from making deals with.

Are people really still asking this silly question? No max player is going to sign an extension when they can become a Free agent and resign with the team for a longer and bigger deal dude. This has pretty much been news for the past month or so.
Extension = 3yrs 60 million max
Resign with team with Bird Rights = 5 yr 100 mil max
Walk to new team as a FA = 4 yr 75 mil max
So again why should he sign an extension?

The Lakers didn't steal Shaq. The Magic were simply too stupid and didn't offer him the max. If anything, it's Orlando who gave him away.
And they're not stealing Howard either. It's not a one-on-one trade, it includes 4 teams. But how they ended up with diddly-squat is anybody's guess. Orlando had a myriad of opportunities and offers to trade him for something decent. Their FO is simply incompetent.
Orlando is a a magic pinanta. Free candies for everybody! No need to steal.

It's going to happen, but the deal is being sweetened and fine tuned.

Yep, go to prepare for the bandwagon express (Not me, my teams will always be the Sonics and Hawks) because there is going to be some many people want to get on that.
Stebo_SSK, they got run over by this deal, they only lose one bad contract and you gain nothing, oh wait and tank for 3 years doesnt work because there is no FA would go there unless you do a Joe Johnson and over-pay them. This deal was bad for the Magic, no way around it.

He wouldn't want that right?
Instead teams know they can bend him over every time they work with him.
Much better situation for the Magic.
