Philly already owes the pick to Miami this year. The earliest it could be is 2015, although Berger keeps repeating otherwise

The sad thing is a team loses their star and wins the draft lottery for the third straight year is not likely to happen. It would make the draft lottery look completely rigged and I can't imagine the NBA being that stupid. Those who believe it's legitimate would have no argument. If the Magic are doing this to tank, I am not sure if it will work. As it is, I don't see myself following basketball next season. The Lakers getting yet another beneficial trade handed to them is getting disgusting at this point.

Ray Allen was older at this point and making a lot of money. I wouldn't consider it lopsided. The Lakers acquiring Shaq, Kobe, Gasol, and Howard are all lopsided. The Lakers have benefitted from 4 very lopsided acquisitions in the last 20 years, and the Celtics have benefitted from 1. Nice try.

While Ron's brother isn't the guy to go to for trades, he does know what's going on with his brother. He recently stated that Ron is at 237 with 5% body fat and is in incredible shape. Let's just wait and see.

Artest looked really bad last season. He's in the fast decline. Harrington is a (tiny) bit younger, fewer miles on him, and at this point quicker.

you must have skipped over Harrington's injuries in the scouting report. Harrington's knees don't allow him to move as quick as he could, and actually the kid has little to no defense compared to Artest. I think he'll come back better than last year. Didn't you hear? He gave his only championship ring to charity, he knows he's gotta win one before he's gone.

Some serious overrating of Nets/Sixers going on with talk of them being possibly 2nd and 3rd best teams in the East with serious underrating of Hawks/Bulls both slotted to either just make or miss the playoffs.....

Well it's the closest to home it's going to get for him. They have the money to max him and he gets to be #1. If he doesn't then we have the Room to sign two max players and we get rid f Iguodala contract. It's worth the risk, they are making an attempt and taking risk finally.

With Turner waiting in the wings, its still a justifiable trade even if Bynum leaves. Igoudala was expendable IMO (despite still being a great player) and his contract was just very restricting. Obviously you want Bynum to stay and I think the extra 25 million means a lot more to him than it does to Dwight at this point in terms of influencing his decision to do so. But plan B isn't so bad either, so Philly gets a GREAT deal.

Long term loss isn't Iggy, it's Harkless.

Why do you guys have such bad GM? You should really look into pressuring the organization to replace him. Not befitting of the winningest franchise in NBA history you know. Red Auerbach would be rolling over in his grave.

I don't notice too many teams benefitting from lopsided acquisitions in recent years. The Celtics play in a market that's not too large and have colder weather. That hurts them for free agency compared to a few teams. The Lakers have benefitted the most and Miami has also benefitted. Most other teams haven't benefitted from lopsided acquisitions too much, so the Celtics aren't very different from the average team. I'm happy with Ainge personally.

Miami has become the force it has since adding Pat Riley, especially in his move from coaching to management. Don't hate us because we have nice weather, show some pride in being a Celtics fan. Dude it's people like you who give those fans a bad name, I don't hate Celtics fans, just hate fans like you about as much as I hate fake Lakers fans (probably more of that than Clippers fans, and that's saying a lot considering how many bandwagon Clips fans I've seen since CP3 arrived). First big mistake I saw the Celts do was letting Perkins go. Having Perk and KG was truly tough for opposing front courts, neither player gives an inch and who did Ainge replace him with? Jeff Green Hopefully Avery pans out but I don't see much of a future there. Sad but true, fun playing against you guys like the good ol days. Hopefully now you aren't stuck in the Dee Brown to Mercer/Walker era again. That was sad to see indeed as a basketball fan.

Anyway, show some pride man. You're a Celtics fan, not some Raptors fan, they got the blues real bad man and they STILL stick by with a smile, albeit painful but still. They have hands down, the best sigs. That team is still hoping for a playoff push where they are relevant contenders whereas look at your team's history. Show some pride and while you're at it, start complaining to management along with a bunch of other fans. If that city can post a pathetic news headline naming them their champions for basically putting in effort than I'm sure they'll be on board to help turn that franchise around. Also lastly, beg Rondo to have his jumper on point if he wants to reach the apex of his game otherwise that team will still struggle, especially without the shooting you'll desperately be missing from Ray Allen.

Lakers trade Bynum + Eyenga (prospect) + McBob (ex) + future first round for Howard + Duhon + Clark. Trade was fair. Not sure how some people can say the Lakers sent nothing. That is pretty much Dwight's value. Magic build a team that's terrible enough to get a high draft chance and get 3 young prospects (Harkless, Vucevic, Eyenga), a good starting SG, trade bait in Harrington and decent future drafts. Send Dwight to a different conference and to a team that he preferred. Don't see how this was the most lopsided trade in NBA history. What's the point of improving your team to mediocrity with Brook Lopez on a max contract and strengthening your FC with Humphries. Not to mention, every other team in the trade improved significantly to winning now.

Just to put the Lakers FO in perspective.. people were laughing at them for being over the cap and unable to do anything until Kobe's contract is up and would stay mediocre. Well.. they just got a former MVP and the best centre in the game in one off season. Unbelievable.
