well you never know what situations teams will be in in the future.....you also might have to factor in what the CBA introduces in year 2 if anything and how it will effect teams.....
Well the tax gets a lot harsher for tax teams. Maybe you get a mediocre team that performs badly because on big contract is holding them back and we convince them to give us their pick to take that contract. I don't know. We definitely don't need a 22 million dollar TPE though, it's overkill.

Dwight is the one who **** us, not Rob. How can you guys not understand this? We had no leverage, and the teams Dwight had on his list had no assets. What did you think would happen?
Dwight didn't screw us over. He was contractually obliged to play another season here and he would have. his intent not to stick around that doesn't screw us, because that's his prerogative. the reasons why he didn't want to stick around is what screwed us. blame Otis. blame Fegan. i don't think Hennigan or Howard screwed us on this. we screwed ourselves.
Howard gave this team its best success in over a decade and people are just throwing that away because our management was shortsighted and inept. people should be angry at the right people - the people who were in charge. they're put in place for a reason, and they failed so tragically.
Yes, he did screw us. Otis did too.

Because getting Harkless, Vucevic and draft picks is better for the franchise than Dwight walking for nothing, no matter how you try to spin it.
The Magic are about to lose more fans and more money than this trade can ever conceivably help the Magic. They just killed any respect from all Magic fans.
As if Harkless, Vucevic and Draft Picks can be any better than what the Magic could have done next summer with $30 million in Cap space in 2013. Are people crazy?!?!

We are at 15 contracts, all guaranteed, so anything that comes in needs to be met with a cut or a trade. Henny said PG is an issue they will deal with "pronto". We're realistically 2 guards short of a real lineup, maybe 3 if we need a 3rd SG.

I agree with this....I think the Ownership is not very good when it comes to basketball decisions....giving Otis all that power was a mistake.....Got too cocky and didn't really have a good rapport with Dwight.....It's kind of funny but the one mistake of many that sticks in my mind of the many blunders of Otis was not signing Vince Carter when he wanted to come here when he was still in his prime....calling him "Fool's Gold" only to sign him at 32 when he's old and busted.....Say what you want about Hennigan but i'm glad Otis is gone......

What? Harkless, Vucevic and picks + 30 million is better that just 30 million, how can you even make a statement like this?
The Magic obviously don't care about losing bandwagon fans and a little bit of money, and thank god for that because letting him walk would have been a disaster.

Please do not speak on my behalf. You are the worst type of fan, be gone and good riddance man.
I like what they are doing and building here, if your not well that's ok, but to say it over and over and over and over again is tiresome and boring. If you want out and have lost respect, cool bro, walk away.
You don't speak for every Magic fan. I am staying and I am excited.

I think BBD is here for the long haul, but JJ is definetly getting traded for a pg.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm excited about Afflalo...
- We have him locked in for his prime years and at a reasonable contract imo.
- We finally have a decent defender at the SG position.
- He's a good 3pt shooter and shoots a high overall % for a guard.
- While some may think he's reached his peak, I think he still has room to grow offensively since he's only been a starter for the past three seasons. Over the final 3 months of last season, he averaged 18 points on 49.5% from the field and 42% from three, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He may not be an allstar, but he could be a solid piece of the puzzle in the future.

Keep Howard= Magic 25th pick in 2013 draft and $30 million in cap space next season.
This Trade= Magic top 10 pick in 2013 draft, 15th pick in 2012 draft, 17th pick in 2011 draft, and $23 in cap space next summer.
