Enough negativity. Be more like Cousins

I don't give a crap who wears a Lakers jersey. When they come to town we are kicking their ass.

I was unfazed when I first heard about this trade. I pretty much assumed it would happen for the past month or so. This doesn't change my mind about the Lakers -- I still hate them the same. I don't care whose playing for the Lakers; I don't care if they're championship contenders, or have a below .500 record -- every year is the same... I want the Kings to destroy them.

re: Dwight stuff

I'm going to feel bad for OKC if they can't top the Lakers. Years of stockpiling picks and flawless drafting with said picks could be rendered meaningless by two quick moves by the Lakers. Almost doubled the salary cap like it is no big deal. Such is the life of a small market fan...

The Lakers will be scary for 2-3 years, then they'll have to rebuild again around Howard anyway. I'm glad Howard was traded to the Lakers, that picture Cousins posted is the reason why. Could be the beginnings of a great Kings/Laker feud revival in a couple of years. That is if the Kings organization finds their brain. Or luck is on their side.

Well, at the very least I hope that the Lakers' moves woke the Kings' front office up. Mediocre move after mediocre move isn't enough to contend. Also hoping that the Kings can peak during the Lakers next "rebuild". Which probably means 1-2 years of rebuilding followed by adding Kyrie, Anthony Davis or something similar :(

^The Dwight-Demarcus match ups should be great though

One question I'd have is why weren't the Kings in on the possibility of landing Iggy? Denver basically got him for nothing. Afflalo is a decent role player but c'mon! This was truly the summer of watching teams make steps up while the Kings tooks side steps and compounded many of the negatives about last season. If the Kings were still sitting on a ton of cap space it would be one thing, but they overpaid for Jason Thompson who doesn't fill the needs listed by Petrie at the start of summer and signed another 5'8" PG who likes to shoot more than anything else.

IDK - I think I liked the Bynum Vs. Cousins match-up better. It just seemed like the two had mutual hate for one-another. I liked that.

Hopefully the Lakers have terrible back doctors, and we see a repeat of 2004.

Don't worry. Dwight's going to learn to hate Cousins pretty quick :D

I think Cousins did well against Dwight Howard. Cousins elevates his game when he plays Howard. Hopefully seeing Howard more often will be motivation for Cousins to get better. Cousins is going to have to get past Howard if he wants to go anywhere in the playoffs.

Iggy isn't worth the cost of his contract in the Kings' eyes. But instead, we sign average players for the MLE all the time.

Like I've said, I think it's stupider to be paying Salmons, Hayes, Garcia, and Outlaw than to be paying, say Joe Johnson and 3 minimum guys. In our case you have a bunch of mediocre guys who will get you about 30 wins even when you put them next to our current core. In the "bad contract, but an all-star + minimum guys," I bet you we're in the playoffs. And as demonstrated, the JJ contract is moveable, and minimum guys obviously won't tie you up. Our guys' contracts aren't moveable. Nobody wants them. Whoever's philosophy it's been to construct the roster how it's constructed, I think, just isn't a winning philosophy.
