Welcome Earl Clark and Chris Duhon

Post#1 » by nbaintel1 » Sat Aug 11, 2012 2:48 am

Don't see a thread here yet but welcome Clark and Duhon - the bags of chips of the trade.

Duhon is a good vet with good leadership. Clark played great in last year's playoffs. He could be our sleeper xfactor this year.

They've got some pretty big roles to fill. LA has a great tradition of players that have excelled at warming the bench.

Earl Clark is a great under the radar addition for us. He doesn't have that same skill set, but he could possibly play in a Lamar Odom (very) Lite+ role down the line. He's got handle, and can block shots. 24 years old to boot.

Excellent 11th and 12th men who can fill-in due to injury in a pinch.

Look for Duhon to REALLY push Blake ... and that's a very, very good thing.

Duhon pushing Blake...

i like duhon better than blake, but then again i like everyone better than blake.

and i agree with nbaintel1 Earl Clark is a sleeper, i look for him to play well if he can get off the bench with our stacked front court!

duhon used to be a solid player. i remember when this board used to salivate to guys like hinrich, duhon, daniels, mike james...back when we suck these players often come up in our trade thread..."the perfect triangle pointguard" lol. now these players probably wouldn't even make our roster lol. but i like duhon and if he can go back to his old self he'll take blake's spot.

Duhon might end up playing just because of how bad Blake is, but make no mistake about it Duhon is terrible. Clark is interesting..I wanna say that he could make an impact playing next to Nash, but hasn't he already played with Nash without making an impact? granted he was probably too young back then. Anyways I wouldn't mind seeing Clark get some minutes, but with our new depth that won't happen unless we have injuries. If Dwight is really out a month at the start of the season, Clark is our 4th best big. The no-Dwight lineup is going to be interesting, with Gasol and Jamison starting and Hill getting most of the backup minutes, that is if Dwight misses any time which we still don't know about.

you guys are great, really, but I don't get paid as much as I used to edit threads. Let's keep it economical, Howard Mass can't afford all this special effects

Nash/Blake/Duhon/Morris
Kobe/Meeks/Goudelock/DJO

I highly doubt we roll with 8 guards in a 15 man roster, not sure if Duhon will avoid a buyout since Blake is the better player and makes more. As for Clark we have room in the front court for him deep on the end of the bench with McRob gone. Who knows he might turn into a decent role player here, he's only 24.
