Lopez is gonna top every "worst contract in the league" list in the near future
Wallace is 30, declining and would've been a FA this summer. And re-signed for 4/40

But yeah, still better than what we got. 25mil/year wasted is no problem when rebuilding

Something has to change here or history will continue to repeat itself.

Don't worry. Magic will never get that lucky again. We had our chance. Now, we can settle on being the next Milwaukee or Warriors. The Magic should just give away seats to people who buy (3) day passes to Disney World when they visit town as a side attraction.

you say that but taking Iggy or Bynum would've had us just like Milwaukee or the Warriors NOW. We're taking a gamble to get another superstar, or two, through the draft.

I was thinking of trading Bynum or Iggy for a better return. More youth. I bet Bynum for Harrison Barnes alone with the Warriors would have worked.

I dont know what is so hard for some Magic fans to understand. The Nets deal was wayyyy better than this. Your GM let his personal feeling get in the way because he wanted to show Brooklyn who was boss and he let the Magic organization and their fans down in the process. Nets were going to give Lopez on a max deal which the Magic could have flipped to the Bobcats or Portland for more picks and young assets(both Portland and Charolette wanted to sign Lopez to a max deal)...good luck doing that with Harrington and Affalo. Nets were also giving Marshon Brooks who is a lot better than Harkless to build around. Nets also offer 4 unprotected 1st round picks as opposed to the 3 protected picks that the Magic got in this deal. And the icing on the cake....Nets were gonna take back Duhon's and Hedo's contracts. Last time I checked...Hedo is still on the team. So you can try and say this was the best deal...but the rest of the NBA fans know it is a joke and the Magic got crushed. It is what it is.

GM A: Hey Warriors, you want 10 months of Andrew Bynum for Harrison Barnes?
GM B: No thanks. We aren't winning a title any time soon, so I think we'll be OK telling our fans that Harrison Barnes might be good one day. Have you tried Morey?

Why would they trade for Bynum if they have Bogut? Insurance in case one of them get injured?

Nelson and Iverson on the same team? Brillant. Maybe you can add Al Harrington to go along with that too. And maybe some late round protected 1st round picks. Nice start to a rebuild. World beaters in two years.

I get what you're saying, but BOTH Kupchak & Morey said Rob exhausted all options. I believe he shopped Bynum around to see what he could get and Philly had the best return. Then, I'm sure he did the same shopping for Iggy. Maybe a team wasn't willing to give up pick or knew we had little leverage so they weren't offering much value.

Trust that our GM looked under every rock and called every GM to get something he liked.
