Honestly I dont think it would matter, I dont think we are using our max cap space next summer.

It really doesn't matter. It only counts until it expires, we use it, or we renounce it. Not sure why Zach thought it actually mattered at all. He just wants to argue that the magic won't have room to sign a max player next year and has been arguing it for 2 days now.

In the NBA today you have to sign 2 stars at once to get anyone to come to your team if you aren't New York or some such big market. If you sign only one guy you end up over paying him to come if he isnt a legit star and they want help now.

We need to go for cap space for 2 max deals and shoot for 2014, though I doubt there will be anyone worth going for then as they will all be either old (Dirk), staying put(Lebron and such assuming they opt out), or RFA's.

Wow, please get me Tyreke Evans on this team... yeah he's one of my favorite players... but in a fresh new environment, that guy can develop into a beast combo guard to build around... he's already shown he is capable of scoring and being "the man" several times in Sacramento... but there isn't any discipline over there unfortunately for him... he needs to get out of Sacramento.

Vaughn will also do wonders with him, if he's willing to learn.

Evans/Harkless/Nicholson

The problem with your comparison is that Tyreke isn't very athletic. He's just big and crafty enough to get to the rim. He needs the ball to be effective so unless he is going to be our primary ball handler, his role will be kind of murky.

how would he fair if groomed strictly as a PG? I haven't watched much of Tyreke so not familiar with his game. I'm just going off of what I've seen from a few highlights.

I love him as a PG, if we had him in any of the last 3 years, I feel like this is a much better team. Not just because he is an upgrade over Duhon, but a big guard who plays great 1 on 1 defense and can get to the rim at will to draw fouls makes our shooters look just as good as Dwight did. I like him off the bench, because he just seems like a one on one guy. Letting him bully opposing PGs for 20 mins a game is a great place for him.

The thing I worry about is his athleticism. When he had a foot injury two years ago, all his burst was gone and he wasn't able to get to the rim anymore causing him to be basically worthless.

Sounds that way. Interesting bit of trivia:
Following the 2004 season, when Syracuse Orange assistant coach Troy Weaver left for a coaching position with the Utah Jazz, Murphy was hired by the Orange.

As much as I like Tyreke Evens at PG I don't think the trade offer is true unless they dont plan on doing the trade till OCT. The first trade he had Harrington and McRoberts in the trade, the players the magic just received in the Howard trade can not be packaged together for 60 days, they can be traded by themselves now, but not packaged.

The counter offer would work but I dont think the Magic would make a offer they cant do, unless its to happen in OCT

Afflalo was in Spain

Oh. My bad. I wonder if he will have a huge smile as Dwight Howard had while traveling all over town getting pictures of himself as often as possible in a Magic jersey.

Most likely, but who honestly cares? He gives us some rumors to talk about, that's pretty much it.

Now we have a coach that freestyles. Great. I think Alex is taking this "relating to players" thing too far.

Impossible that this was trade offer because Magic cannot trade any player they received in Dwight deal if they are aggregated with other salaries..

but if the trade was broken into 2 separate trades, very much legal.

You're probably right that it wasn't offered, but not on the reasons why - there would be nothing stopping it being broken down into two separate deals, say JJ for Hayes and Harrington for Evans.
