I saw this crazy stat on twitter and I had to actually count every single Laker to see if it was true.

Only Kobe, Pau and Artest remain

Why worry? Which players no longer with the team do you wish were still here? The only one I can think of might be Farmar as he'd have definitely been better than Blake these past two years.

It's hard to believe it's only been two years since the Lakers last won a title. Feels like it's been forever.

At first thought I was worried too, but then I remembered something our recent teams lacked- heart and the hunger to win. The most important thing is to bring in new blood, and motivated players. Bringing in hungry players helps our group be a little more like the Lakers after we lost to Boston in 08 I have no worries about Nash, Howard, Jamison, and Meeks (who took a smaller contract to be on a winning team after his rookie contract!)

more interesting is that the following players that the lakers were counting on to go to battle at some point last yr don't' even have NBA jobs right now:

matt barnes, derek fisher, jason kapono, troy murphy, derrick caracter.

1/3 of the roster last yr isn't even NBA worthy anymore apparently.

You thought those two were nice pick ups last year. I remember telling you they wouldn't work out, one was gone before the season ended the other was just a dead man walking. Not surprising they won't be getting jobs this year either.

what i thought was that it was silly to write them off cause they were "career losers". still think thats a silly outlook.

I still wish we had

Farmar and Shannon back up backcourt. They were exciting and came thru in the finals... Blake contract is toxic .

Blake
Duhon

These guys are all overpaid IMO but Kobe is Kobe so im not gonna count him

The only player that we need from our past championships is Kobe.
He still has the drive to do it.
All this new blood is good for us. Dwight and Nash will be hungry!
