LOL ok buddy.

He averaged more points and rebounds, on better efficiency, with better advanced stats (PER, WS, etc). That isn't even considering the injuries- he played in 99% of the games in 2011 compared to 59% in 2012. When you factor in the personal achievements (1st team all-nba, MVP, etc), I don't think this is remotely close.

No, actually he is right I'm a Bulls fan and Rose was actually playing better last season than he was in 2011. He played some games injured or limited minutes so it hurt his numbers but before those games came into the factor, his production and efficiency was much better.

2011:
FG: 44.5%
3pt: 33.2%
FT: 85.8%
TS: 55%
eFG: 48.5%

2012:
FG: 43.5 %
3pt: 31.2%
FT: 81.2%
TS: 53.2%
eFG: 47.3%

At rim
2011: 60%
2012: 58%

3-9 Feet
2011: 39.7%
2012: 43.7%

16-23 feet
2011: 38%
2012: 37%

His efficiency dropped in every single category except his shooting percentage in the 3-9 foot range. Sorry but you're not going to convince me that his efficiency was much better in 2012 than 2011.

Again, those stats are taking into the games he played injured and limited in. Before he piled up those injuries and before he started playing limited minutes and a limited role, his stats were actually better than what they were in 2011.

I remember when I checked his stats earlier in the year like in March or something, they were looking much better than they were last season. It was what happened in April when he was playing injured and limited that hurt him and his numbers.

If we take out the last 5 games that Rose played which was the entire month of April, here is what his stats look like.

Image

23/8/4 with 45% shooting, pretty much. He also shot 55% TS% in that span as well, minus the five games that hurt him and his numbers.

Let's bump this thread back up during or after next season. I can't wait for all the people who disrespect Wade to look like tools once again. At least the LeBron non-sense has stopped.

Nitpicking stats doesn't change my mind either. Like you said for Wade, injuries are apart of the game. Why should injuries be held against Wade but not Rose? On top of that, I'm pretty sure Rose was dealing with injuries during portions of the 2011 season as well.

Look, if you want to say Rose was a top 5 player after the 2011 season that's completely fine. But after the 2012 season? The guy didn't play as well as the previous year, missed 40% of the games, and is coming off a major knee surgery and probably won't look like his normal self (assuming he doesn't have any lasting side effects, which is a big assumption) until at least the 2013-2014 season.

Because in my opinion, Wade's injury and inconsistent play in 2012 was based on decline, not based on freak accidents and what not.

But fine, my top 5 would be like this if we factor in health concerns.

1. Lebron
2. Durant
3. Paul
4. Howard
5. Kobe

The Fact is Rose had better season last year than his MVP season. But, that's not anything impressive because his MVP numbers were the worst numbers a MVP has ever put up. IMO Rose was the most undeserving MVP in NBA history, next to Iverson. The common belief is that he caries the bulls, but that's just idiotic because their Defense is the main reason they win, not rose. He is a scoring point guard who is not efficient at all. He will be lucky if his career ends up like wade. i have to laugh when people say he is better than wade. Wade is a 2nd option on a team where the first option is the best player in the world and a top 15 player all time. He was obviously injured last year and still payed through it during the playoffs. Wade knew he wasn't hundred percent , therefore, he agreed to take less shots and encouraged Lebron to take more. But if it was Kobe he would never do that because he would still shoot 25 times and make 8 and people would say "OMG kobe made 8 shots even with an injured knee!!"

There were tons of games that went down to the wire for the Bulls in that 2011 season and Derrick Rose closed almost all of those games out. He just flat out carried the Bulls offense that season and was a large part of why they won 60+ games that season. It was no different than what Lebron did with the Cavs. Cavs won because of defense too but Lebron was the one closing and anchoring the offense for that team. Now, Rose is obviously not as good as LeBron but I'm just explaining why your logic is flawed.

Wade has been a better player than Kobe for years now. At least since 2008, and probably earlier. Kobe being a better shooter forsakes the fact that he takes a lot of bad shots and doesn't actively look to get his teammates involved. We wouldn't have won our first ring if Wade wasn't as unselfish as he is.

As for his jumpshot, he hasn't worked on it because he hasn't had to. He's so effective getting to the rim that shooting is secondary. Now, teams pack the paint so much against us that he has to. That and his role is no longer as primary playmaker, but as a secondary one. So it's important for him to provide floor spacing and be able to his the catch and shoot jumpshot.

He shot well in the '06 playoffs, but that's looking more and more like an anomaly. I hope it has to do with his lack of practice/coaching, and I hope this summer sees him return to that '06 form. Well, he shot well in '08 too, so maybe it's not such an anomaly. Still, a return to good shooting form would be beneficial for the team and his longevity. I don't believe in the notion that Kobe in his 30s will be a better player than Wade in his 30s because Wade does a lot more things well than Kobe. If you want to limit it just to perimeter shooting, sure. However, even when he loses a step, Wade will still be able to get to the rim. That's really about timing and savvy. Look at Paul Pierce. He can still get by guys, and he's definitely lost a step. It will be a smaller part of Wade's game, but it will still be useful.

His mechanics aren't broken or anything, so I have faith he'll just need focus and practice to get his jumpshot where it needs to be. He may never be a great 3pt shooter, but that's not even necessary. If a career brick-layer like Kidd can turn into a good 3pt shooter, Wade can too. He's never been as bad a shooter as Kidd, so it's within his reach. I say let time tell the story, and don't just jump to conclusions because you think his game is predicated on one thing. Jordan didn't develop a reliable 3pt shot until the Portland shrug. It's never too late for great players to get their stroke working. PEACE.
